Permanent ROHINGYA Memorial Unveiled in Newcastle. 12.04.2026

We extend our sincere gratitude to Councillor Habib Rahaman, the Newcastle City Council, and the local community for hosting the unveiling of a permanent memorial to the Rohingya genocide. This significant monument honors the victims, acknowledges survivors, and reaffirms our solidarity with those still suffering in Myanmar and refugee camps.

We would like to thank our key partners Rohingya Action North East (RANE) and the Burmese Rohingya Community UK (BROUK)—along with the many distinguished guests and community leaders who joined us to mark this historic occasion.

This memorial ensures the atrocities committed are never forgotten and that our history is officially recognized. Though we are displaced globally, we remain a united community. We remain steadfast in our pursuit of justice, the restoration of our fundamental rights, and a safe return to our homeland.
