💚 Volunteer Stories 💚
I am Mr Saeed. I first visited Bradford Central Foodbank in February 2024 to seek help and support. After a few visits, I met Josie Barlow, who suggested that I volunteer and offer barbering services for the Foodbank. At first, I was hesitant, as I was already volunteering with another organisation.
However, I soon saw how dedicated the team was and how much they valued each other’s efforts and contributions. Their selfless attitude inspired me to start volunteering in June 2024 because I wanted to be part of such a compassionate community, offering hope and support to those who needed it most.
Two years later, I am still volunteering with Bradford Central Foodbank. Every week, I dedicate two days to helping people experiencing poverty and homelessness by providing practical support such as haircutting, interpreting, and assisting with their immediate needs.
Looking back, I can confidently say that volunteering was one of the best decisions I have made. It has given me a sense of purpose and fulfilment, and I am grateful to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
