When people tell us there’s no money for the basic things ordinary people want, like decent housing, affordable energy, healthy food or health and social care the answer is clearly a wealth tax.
The bosses of FTSE 100 companies will have made more money in 2026 before midday today than the average worker will all year [High Pay Centre] 💰
UK bosses will exceed the average annual pay of staff in less than 29 hours of work, with the median salary for FTSE 100 chief executives equating to £1,353.23 an hour.
The High Pay Centre said a decline in union membership has contributed to the widening chasm between CEO and worker pay.
“CEOs are pocketing millions and their pay continues to shoot up much faster than that of their workers. So, let them take note - Unite will not tolerate employers who want one rule for the bosses and another for the workers.” Sharon Graham
