💚 Did you know that many of the most famous quotes attributed to Rumi are often shared without their original Islamic context?

Rumi was a Muslim scholar, jurist and Sufi teacher whose poetry was deeply inspired by the Qur’an, the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and a lifelong devotion to God.

While modern adaptations have introduced Rumi’s words to millions of readers around the world, some scholars have noted that references to faith and Islamic spirituality are sometimes softened or omitted, leaving many unaware of the tradition from which his poetry emerged.

Rumi’s message of love, compassion and spiritual growth continues to resonate across cultures, but understanding his faith helps us appreciate the depth and richness of his work.

📖 “I am the servant of the Qur’an as long as I have life.”
