Happy New Year from us to you 🎉

We are so excited about this year and all the plans we have. We know it takes team work to make the dream work. If you are interested in volunteering 🙋‍♂️ or have any suggestions of ideas for our next coming events please let us know. We can schedule a chat to hear more.

Our next event will be coming up in March. Last year was great and managed to do events every months. After careful consideration and due to limited funds, we've had to cut down how often we meet. Conversations are in motion for venue, date and times. If you know any organisation that is able to offer us a room in their building, again, please let us know.

We hope to hear from you all. Have a great 2025. Stay safe and healthy!!

We still buzzing from our last event 🙌 We are still grateful for everyone that came and looking forward to the next one. Planning is already in motion, waiting to iron through a few details then we'll be good to go.

However, ideas are still welcome. We'd love to hear what you have in mind and we can try to accommodate it if we can.

Wishing you a wonderful week.

Last Saturday,, we celebrated Black History Month, and WOW—what an unforgettable day! From start to finish, the energy was incredible, and every effort in the planning was worth it a thousand times over. We got to play Mankala, a traditional African game from back home, and even though some of us lost to first-timers, it was a win just seeing everyone dive into our culture!

The kids had endless fun with arts and crafts—pottery, play dough, coloring, painting, face painting—you name it, we had it! Our amazing performers lit up the room with vibrant African dances, and watching parents and children join in was pure joy.

And the food? Absolutely delicious! The caterers outdid themselves with a buffet that had everyone going back for seconds, plus cake for dessert. We even had a sweet moment for kids celebrating birthdays over the break, surrounded by friends and family.

A massive thank you to Leap for funding this event! None of this would have been possible without their support, and it means the world to us to bring our community together like this. Shoutout to everyone who played a role—from the beautiful decorations created by a talented lady in our community, to all who helped spread the word, set up, clean up, and celebrate with us.

The laughter, the smiles, the unity—today was nothing short of magical. One day, one moment, one person, and one community at a time, we're making memories that last a lifetime. Here’s to many more, and we hope to see even more of you next time!

Drumming in African culture is deeply rooted in tradition, spirituality, and community life. It goes beyond just music; it is a form of communication, storytelling. The drum, often considered the "heartbeat" of African societies, plays a key role in celebrations, rituals, and even social cohesion. Each beat, rhythm, and pattern has its own meaning, conveying messages during ceremonies, healing rituals, and gatherings.

Traditionally, drumming knowledge is passed down through generations, and learning to play is seen as an initiation into cultural knowledge. Drummers hold a special place in society, revered for their ability to unite people, express emotions, and maintain cultural continuity.

In modern times, drumming continues to evolve, blending with contemporary music while preserving its core role as a symbol of African identity and resilience.

✨ Messy Play: More Than Just Fun! ✨

Did you know that messy play is a powerful tool for your child's development? 🎨🖌️ From squishing dough to splashing paint, these hands-on activities help children explore their senses, boost creativity, and strengthen motor skills!

Engaging all their senses helps children make sense of the world around them. 🎨 Creativity Unleashed: There's no right or wrong, just imagination at work!

Scooping, pouring, squeezing—it's all part of learning control.

Also, messy play offers a chance for you to connect, laugh, and create memories with your child.

So, let the mess happen! After all, it’s more than play—it’s how children learn, grow, and thrive. 🌱
