Saltaire Collection

Saltaire Collection We exist to tell the unique story of Saltaire World Heritage Site, past, present and future. Visitors arriving in Saltaire ask for an interpretation centre.

A new charity has been formed to improve educational resources about Saltaire World Heritage Site in West Yorkshire, UK. Teachers look for help in planning class visits. Researchers want to visit the Saltaire Archive. At present, Saltaire struggles to meet these needs. Three organisations have created the new partnership:
- Salt Foundation (holds Victoria Hall in a charitable trust)
- Shipley Col

lege (holds the Saltaire Archive, and manages Victoria Hall on behalf
of the Salt Foundation)
- Saltaire United Reformed Church (already provides space for visiting groups). The partnership is called Saltaire World Heritage Education Association (charity no.1158756). Its activity programme is Saltaire Stories: Past, Present and Future. The partnership will co-operate closely with other local groups. Various locations and delivery methods will be used for the Saltaire Stories activity programme. If you’d like to learn more, offer time, skills or a donation, please contact the SWHEA trustees via this page. Saltaire Archive is open Thursdays & Fridays by prior appointment via the Archivist.
