Whether your dad was supported through recovery, cared for with compassion during a difficult time, works at Bradford Teaching Hospitals caring for others every day, or is simply someone you want to honour and celebrate - this campaign is for you.

By making a donation in honour of your dad, you’ll be helping us continue to support patients and families with compassionate care, whilst also thanking the incredible staff who make that care possible every single day.

254 miles for families in need! 🚲

Later this month, Sam is taking on an incredible challenge... Cycling the Leeds and Liverpool Canal Towpath TWICE over two days (25–26 June).

Why? Because every mile will help build a 'Home from Home' at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS FT. A place where families with babies in neonatal intensive care can stay close when it matters most.

With a background in neonatal nursing and now working as a Clinical Skills Educator at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, Sam knows how crucial it is for parents to be near their newborns.

"I have seen firsthand the emotional and physical toll on families with critically ill newborns. Being close to their baby during such a vulnerable time is not just comforting, it is essential. This appeal will provide families with the ability to stay nearby, rest, and remain involved in their baby’s care when they need it most."

Let’s rally behind Sam and make every mile count. 🙌

Please donate if you can and help us create a space that keeps families together during the toughest of times. Follow the link in the comments.

Good luck Sam, we're all behind you! 🚴‍♂️✨

Collection Tin Round-Up! 🪙

Last week we collected a rather old, green collection tin from one of our wonderful supporters – we think it might be a collector's item! 😄

If you have one of our collection tins (whether it's old, new or somewhere in between!) that's full and ready to be emptied, we'd love to hear from you.

Or if you don't currently have a collection tin but would like a shiny new one for your business, workplace or community venue, please get in touch. Every penny raised helps us support patients, staff and services across our Trust.

Contact us and we'll be happy to arrange a collection or provide a new tin.

Thank you to everyone who supports us through our collection tins – your spare change really does make a big difference! 💜

Last week, our Fundraising Assistant, Vicky, had the privilege of meeting Fiona, Max and Ava, who have been fundraising in memory of their beloved husband and dad, Ian 🕯️

Following Ian's battle with cancer, his family wanted to give back to the team who cared for him so well. Together, with the help of Ian's brother, they have raised an incredible £500 for The Meadows, our Haematology and Oncology Day Unit at Eccleshill - where Ian received excellent care and support throughout his treatment.

Their generosity doesn't stop there. Fiona, Max and Ava continue to bring treats for staff and patients at The Meadows, spreading kindness and brightening people's days.

This wonderful act of fundraising and ongoing support is a fitting legacy to honour Ian's memory, helping to make a difference for future patients and their families.

Thank you, Fiona, Max and Ava, for your incredible support! 💜

One of the best parts of the job is calling our monthly Staff Lottery winners and sharing the good news! 🎉

From just £1 a month, BTHFT staff can take part in the Staff Lottery for the chance to win up to £500 every month, plus a £2,500 jackpot every three months.

Recent winner Darek shared why he takes part:
💬 "I would definitely encourage colleagues to join. It’s a great way to support an important cause while also having a chance to win something for yourself. The more staff who take part, the more we can contribute - bringing more smiles and joy to our patients. We care not only about their health, but also about their happiness and wellbeing, and this is a simple way we can all help make a difference."

Darek won £50 in the draw and already knows how he'll spend it:
"I won £50, so I’ll treat myself and my family to something small - maybe a nice day out or a little treat we can enjoy together. It was a really nice surprise!"

Every ticket sold helps generate vital funds that go back into the Trust, supporting a wide range of projects and initiatives that benefit our patients and staff.

If you work for Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS FT and would like to sign up to the Staff Lottery, contact [email protected] or visit the intranet for more information 💜
