What a fantastic Summer Mela 2026!

Yesterday, MHA residents came together at Manningham Sports Centre for an evening packed with food, music, entertainment, and activities for the whole family—including henna, face painting, balloon modelling, a bouncy castle, and much more.

But what made the evening particularly special was the wonderful community spirit.

We’ve already received some lovely feedback, with one attendee describing the event as “brilliant” and sharing how grateful and happy families felt to be part of the MHA community. Another described it as a “brilliant evening” and praised the range of activities, the food, and everyone who helped make it happen.

We were also delighted to celebrate the winners of our gardening competition and welcome community organisations including Hollings Youth Association, who joined us to showcase their work and raise awareness about the dangers of nitrous oxide.

A huge thank you to our residents, colleagues, community partners, activity providers, and everyone who volunteered their time—from entertaining families to helping serve food.

These events are about much more than having fun. They’re about bringing people together, strengthening connections, and celebrating the communities we are proud to serve.

Thank you to everyone who made the evening such a success!

We’re proud to share an important new article from Barrington Billings, former Chair of Manningham Housing Association and current Chair of BME National, published today in Inside Housing.

In “A national anti-racism strategy is long overdue”, Barrington makes a powerful case for a more cohesive, national approach to tackling racial inequality — one that is grounded in evidence, shaped by lived experience and focused on achieving meaningful, measurable change.
For housing organisations like ours, this is an especially important conversation. We see first-hand the vital role that housing providers, community organisations and BME-led organisations can play in understanding inequalities, amplifying the voices of the communities we serve and helping to shape better policy and services.

We are incredibly proud of Barrington’s continued contribution to the housing sector and his work ensuring that the experiences of BME communities and organisations are represented in national conversations.

Housing organisations see the consequences of racism at close quarters. That’s why we’ve added our voice to the call for the new prime minister to introduce a cohesive strategy to tackle racial inequality, writes Barrington Billings, chair of BME National

What a fantastic Cohesion Day!

It was wonderful to see residents coming together today for an afternoon full of fun, food and community spirit at the playing fields off Hetton Drive.

Families enjoyed face painting, henna art, fun races, a bouncy castle and plenty of food.

The event was delivered by Manningham Housing Association in partnership with Accent Housing bringing residents and families together and helping to strengthen connections across the local community.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, as well as all the colleagues and partners who helped make the day such a success.

We had the pleasure of sharing a special Thank You Lunch with residents at Anchor Court.

For almost eight months, while our Bank House office was closed for refurbishment, Anchor Court became an important temporary base for our teams. Throughout that time, residents generously shared their building, communal spaces, and everyday environment with us—and we are incredibly grateful for their patience, understanding, and warm welcome.

Community is at the heart of Manningham Housing Association, and the kindness shown to us by Anchor Court residents over these past months has been a wonderful example of that spirit.

Thank you, Anchor Court, for putting up with us, supporting us, and making us feel so welcome!

We were delighted to take part in the Summer Sports Festival at Keighley Rugby Union Stadium.

It was fantastic to see such a great turnout from our tenants and to connect with the wider Keighley community. The event gave us a valuable opportunity to promote Manningham Housing Association’s services, build new relationships and work collaboratively with local partners.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success!

Today we completed our customer service training series with Bobby Singh from BSA Training. Colleagues explored core communication skills, including body language, questioning, rapport and active listening, as well as how to choose the right communication method — whether by email, phone or face to face.

We also reflected on the importance of strong internal communication and peer recognition, recognising that excellent customer service is supported by how well we work together as one team.

A big thank you to Bobby Singh and BSA Training for delivering such engaging and valuable sessions, and to all colleagues who took part with openness, honesty and a clear commitment to improving the customer experience at MHA.
