This weeks activities start today, so without further delay, this weeks and next week’s Better Place Bradford activities for 0-4's are;

Monday 12th October
Igniting Imagination with Hawk and Heath – Marvellous Magic
🎩 Making nature wands from sticks, ribbons and leaves
🎩 Fairy wings and wizard hats to colour
🎩 Magic themed books and cuddly toys.
🎩 Pretend potion making with petals and leaves
🎩 Build fairy homes with shells and bark.

Thursday 15th October
Woodwork Workshop with Fearless People

Better Place Bradford Lovely Bug Ball
Multiple activities including forest school activities, live music, bug hotel crafts, water play, story telling, bulb planting, wood working and bug hunts.

🐛 JUST ONE WEEK TO GO! 🦋 We’re almost ready for a day full of bugs, music, crafts, stories, and outdoor adventures!

🐝 DRESS AS A LITTLE BUG AND BE IN WITH A CHANCE TO WIN! 🐞

For those arriving in their bug costume in the first hour of the event, you could be winning one of the cutest prizes we’ve seen. Families can pop their name and contact number into the Better Place Bradford ‘Lucky Ladybird’ for a chance to win one of our 15 special prizes.

These aren’t just any caterpillars… they’re beautifully crocheted little caterpillars that hide inside their chrysalis before unfolding into a butterfly, complete with wings! 🐛➡️🦋 Scroll through to see >>

🎶 EXPLORE OUR STORYTELLING FESTIVAL AT THE DELL
Head around the back of the The Lodge, Bowling Park to discover music and craft activities under the canopy, plus bulb planting with the Friends of Bowling Park. 🌷 It’s a lovely chance to explore this tucked-away area, that you probably haven’t seen before.

🌦️ REMEMBER TO COME PREPARED FOR THE WEATHER!
October can be unpredictable, so please bring coats and waterproofs just in case. There’ll be sheltered spots to gather under the stretch tent, gazebos and a shade sail at The Dell, as well as the Lodge Café. Either way, a little rain won’t stop the fun! 💚

So get those wings, feelers and spots ready — we’ll see you next Sunday! 🐝

Morning all 👋. As a reminder, it’s our first ever Tuesday Yorkshire Muddings this week and as it stands, we still have spaces available to book on. I’ll be hosting another construction-based session on Thursday too, similar to last time if you came to that 😊.

🐄🚜 On Monday, Better Place Bradford brought a little bit of farmyard fun to Horton Park with our 0–4s and Hawk and Heath. 🐔🌿

There were farmyard animal small-world play, farm-themed books and cuddly toys and a pretend farm shop where little ones could sort the fruit and veg. 🍎🥕

We also got creative building miniature barns from sticks, leaves and other natural materials — and made sand tunnels for our farm animals to shelter in. Scroll through to see Robert checking to see where the cow had gone!🐄

Hawk and Heath will be back on Monday 12th October — 10:30am to 12:30pm — at Peel Park Natural Play Area, for more outdoor 0-4 fun. 🌿💚

Better Place Bradford are back with City of Nature CIC tomorrow (Friday 2nd October) for ‘Time to Hibernate’ where we’ll be learning about how animals hibernate, making our own clay hedgehogs with twigs, searching for bugs with sensory digs and hibernation themed colour, puzzles and games.

If you’d like to join us with your 0-4 year old join us at Bradford Moor Park, from 11am to 10pm at the Natural Play Area. 🌿☀️

We’re bringing together some fantastic organisations and people to create a day packed with bugs, nature, music, making and lots of family fun.

🎺 Homecoming Brass Band and Mazaika will be bringing the music
🏛️ Bolling Hall Museum (Bradford Museums and Galleries) will be joining us
🦋 Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will be getting us closer to nature
🐜 Wildworkshops will be bringing along some real bugs
🌱 City of Nature CIC will have plants to discover
💚 Happy Healthy You will be running their activities
🐞 Canal & River Trust will be on hand with bug activities
🔨 Fearless People will be bringing their wood workshop
