Big fat apologies to anybody who went to Headrow Court today for a non existent Coffee Morning. We got the wrong end of the stick, but the Police are here on 1st July at 12 until 1.30. And we will stick the kettle on, grab some biscuits from Kaz’s and call it a Coffee Morning.

Bronte Birthplace another great Community Building in Market Street. We are proud to partner with such a talented project. As long as they remember we are the Centre of the Community, the clue is in our name.

Many visitors are surprised to learn that the Brontë Birthplace isn’t privately owned 😌

The Birthplace is owned by the Brontë Birthplace Community Benefit Society, a democratic organisation created to preserve and celebrate the birthplace of Charlotte, Branwell, Emily and Anne Brontë for public benefit 😊

It’s a heritage asset saved by the community, for the community 🫶🏻

Looking forward to Thornton Open Gardens, 4th and 5th July. Tickets are in the Community Centre and Library now or you can book on the Community Centre Website. There is also a mini music festival, so we have got everything crossed for sunny weather.

Coffee Morning with the Community Police tomorrow, in Headrow Court. Call in and see them, they are lovely people and they have coffee. They will be back in the community Centre on Wednesday 1st July from 12 until 1.30, where we are not such lovely people but we do also have coffee.

Its all going on this weekend at the Community Centre, Thornton Arts Trial on both Saturday and Sunday, our Community Day and table top sale on Saturday. And then the Sunday Cinema film is Loving Vincent. Come down to any or all of the events.

Big congratulations to Thornton in Bloom for their Change Makers award. They do so much for our community and are ridiculously good at gardening, but admittedly not that great at all looking in the same direction for photos. Thank you all, your work it appreciated.

We love this idea, Lisa Gorman was a wonderful lady and her visits to our Centre are very much missed.
