This week the Royal Marines Cadets Detachment spent the week on their summer camp at Knook Camp on Salisbury plain. After completing modules in field craft and weapon handling the cadets completed drill training accumulating in a Company Parade to celebrate 50 years of X-ray company.

A special shout out to Marine Cadet Roberts who was awarded Best in Troop for Skill at Arms. BZ

🚨 ANOTHER FANTASTIC ACHIEVEMENT! 🚨

We’re delighted to celebrate another fantastic achievement from PO (SCC) Armstrong! 👏⚓️

Last week, PO Armstrong travelled to HMS Temeraire in Portsmouth, the home of Royal Navy Physical Training, to undertake a rigorous Advanced Physical Training Instructor course. 💪🏃‍♂️

Throughout the course, he was put through his paces and had the opportunity to put his physical training knowledge and skills to the ultimate test.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that PO Armstrong successfully completed the course and is now a qualified Advanced Physical Training Instructor! 🏆💪

This is an amazing qualification and a huge personal achievement, made even more impressive by the fact that PO Armstrong is now 1 of only 2 Advanced Physical Training Instructors across Eastern Area! 🔥👏

A massive congratulations, PO Armstrong — your hard work, dedication and commitment have truly paid off! ⚓️💪

Following last week’s Promotion Board, we’re delighted to announce some fantastic achievements from our cadets.👏

⭐ Able Cadet Metcalfe has been successfully promoted to Leading Cadet! A fantastic achievement and thoroughly deserved recognition of all their hard work. 👏

⭐ Leading Cadet Turner has also been successfully promoted to Petty Officer Cadet! Another fantastic milestone and a brilliant reward for the dedication and effort shown throughout their cadet career. ⚓

We’d also like to congratulate Leading Junior Cadet Lister, who was presented with her Commodore’s Pennant in recognition of her achievements and commitment to the Sea Cadets in the junior section⚓️

A great set of achievements for these cadets and the unit, and we look forward to seeing what they all achieve in their new roles. 👏⚓⚓

🌟 Cadets Got Talent 2026! 🌟

On Wednesday evening, we were delighted to host our very first Cadets Got Talent show, bringing together an evening full of talent, confidence, and entertainment!

Our cadets put on some fantastic performances, showcasing a wide range of talents including singing, dancing, comedy, and playing musical instruments. It was wonderful to see everyone supporting one another and having the confidence to step onto the stage and perform.

The evening was also a great success in raising funds for our unit, with over £270 raised. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along, bought tickets, and supported the event—your generosity is greatly appreciated.

A huge thank you also goes to our fantastic judges for giving up their time and making the evening so enjoyable. We’d also like to extend a special thank you to our District Officer, Lt Cdr Carter, for joining us and supporting the event.

Finally, a massive well done to every cadet who took part. Your courage, talent, and enthusiasm made the evening a fantastic success, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. We can’t wait to see what next year’s Cadets Got Talent has in store! 👏🎤🎭🎶

This weekend Lt Kirk and LC Hudson attended the Eastern Area Shooting Weekend. A great opportunity to learn some new skills and refresh some old ones.

All Shooting activities are overseen by qualified supervisors complying with all guidelines and to a strict syllabus.

🎉 Celebrating 50 Years of Outstanding Service 🎉

Over the Weekend, TS Aurora Bradford Sea Cadets had the honour of celebrating an incredible milestone as Lt (SCC) Lynn Bullock RNR marked 50 years of dedicated service to the Sea Cadets.

Joining the then Girls’ Nautical Training Corps in 1975 as an administrator, Lynn has spent the last five decades inspiring, mentoring, and supporting thousands of young people. Her dedication has helped shape the lives of countless cadets, with many going on to serve successful careers in the Royal Navy after discovering their passion through the opportunities she provided.

Throughout the afternoon, we were delighted to welcome Lynn’s family, friends, former cadets, and special guests to celebrate this remarkable achievement. We were especially honoured to welcome the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Cllr Chris Herd, and WO1 Billy Shepherd RN who presented Lynn with a commendation letter signed by the First Sea Lord, General Sir Gwyn Jenkins KCB OBE ADC RM in recognition of her exceptional service over 50 years.

Lynn’s unwavering commitment, kindness, professionalism, and sense of humour have made a lasting impact on generations of cadets and volunteers alike. Her passion for youth development and the Sea Cadets continues to inspire everyone around her.

From everyone at TS Aurora Bradford Sea Cadets, congratulations, Lynn, on this incredible achievement. Thank you for your 50 years of selfless service, and here’s to many more years of inspiring the next generation.

Join us on Wednesday 29th July 2026 for an evening of entertainment as our talented Cadets take to the stage to showcase their skills! 🎤🎶💃🎭🎸

From singing and dancing to comedy, magic, musical performances, martial arts and more, our Cadets have been working hard to put on a fantastic show, and we’d love for you to come along and support them.

🎟 Tickets are just £2 each and are on sale now in the Wardroom.

It’s set to be a brilliant evening filled with fun, laughter and unforgettable performances. It’s also a great opportunity to meet our staff, chat with other parents and supporters, and enjoy a fantastic evening together as part of the TS Aurora family.
