Huge congratulations to Susan from Morrisons in Eccelsfield who collected a mountain of milk bottle tops to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research. Her efforts raised £660, which we're pleased to match.

Every single top collected is helping Yorkshire Cancer Research fund life-saving research right across the region.

An exciting delivery for our Postnatal Ward at Worcestershire Royal Hospital!

Earlier this week 20 Buddy Beds arrived, finding their final homes in the Postnatal Ward, ready to support our newest arrivals and their loved ones in those first moments together, all thanks to the supporters of Hold the Moment – Maternity Appeal.

The charity team were on hand to support the Buddy Beds arrival, and it was brilliant to see the old upright chairs being swapped over for the new reclinable Buddy Beds. The beds are specialized pieces of equipment that transform from a comfy bedside chair to a fully reclinable bed, the beds recognise that childbirth can be a long and exhausting experience, now partners can be more comfortable during this important time with their loved ones.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Appeal, we are delighted to see the first enhancements arriving in our hospitals and can’t wait to keep you updated in the coming weeks with more exciting deliveries to your hospitals!

A massive round of applause to our fantastic colleagues Lilly, Millie, Holly and Lewis (who ducked the photo). They're from our Cardiff and Swansea stores and took on the Cardiff 10K to raise money for the Jacob Crane Foundation which does incredible work supporting children and young adults with a cancer diagnosis,

They managed to raise just short £4,000 as a team! And we're delighted to match it. Well done team! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏃🏃‍♀️

A massive shoutout to the Boots, Blisters & Besties team (Alison, Lisa, Debbie & Bev from Morrisons Daily in South Kirkby) for taking on Herriot's Way and raising an amazing £2,936.98 for Alzheimer's Society ! 💜

Despite the sore feet and the constant temptation to sack it all off for a pub lunch, they smashed their walk to help fund vital care and research for dementia.

Massive shoutout to our brilliant colleague Roy who has absolutely smashed his 'Cycle the Month' challenge! 🚴‍♂️

Roy hopped in the saddle throughout August and pedalled a whopping 101 miles for Prostate Cancer UK, raising a fantastic £328! 🤯👏

We’re absolutely chuffed to bits for him, and delighted to match fund his efforts. That means even more vital cash going towards lifesaving research for the 1 in 8 men affected by prostate cancer. 💙

Introducing the The Morrisons Foundation Connecting Communities fund

Since 2015, the Foundation has donated almost £50 million to
charities across England, Scotland and Wales, and now we’re going
even further with the launch of our new Connecting Communities
programme.

Eligible charities can apply for grants of up to £20,000 to improve,
maintain and refurbish the spaces at the heart of their communities,
including village halls, youth clubs and community centres are
encouraged to apply for a share of the £1 million fund. As well as
those providing place-based support in the community including
warm hubs for the elderly, school PTAs and hospices.

Together we will improve local spaces, bring people together
and help keep vital local services equipped to help our
communities.

Shout out to Louise from our Retford store who has been incredibly brave, taking on a Skydive (which she admitted was the scariest thing she's ever done!) to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society in memory of her Mum.

Louise raised a truly fantastic £1,555. 👏 And we're thrilled to boost her total with our match funding.

Sophie is no stranger to a challenge! After conquering the London and Manchester marathons, smashing a 75k ultra, and hiking to Everest Base Camp over the last couple of years, she decided it was time for something "even harder" (her words, not ours).

So, a few weeks ago she took on the staggering North Yorks 100km race, from Scarborough to Whitby and back!

Sophie raised a brilliant £445 for UK. We’re incredibly proud of her and absolutely thrilled to be matching her efforts 🤝
