🥊 WE ARE RECRUITING – BOXING COACH

Mary Magdalene CIC is looking for a passionate and motivated Boxing Coach to help inspire the next generation of young people.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a real difference in the lives of local young people. Through boxing, you will help participants improve their fitness, confidence, discipline, resilience and overall health & wellbeing in a safe, positive and supportive environment.

Our sessions focus on much more than boxing. We help young people build self-esteem, develop respect for others, improve mental wellbeing and make positive choices for their future.

If you have boxing coaching experience, enjoy working with young people and want to give back to your community, we’d love to hear from you.

A huge well done to all our young people who successfully completed their Bikeability Level 1 training! 🚴‍♂️👏

This is a fantastic achievement and an important first step in developing safe cycling skills for life. Throughout the programme, participants learned how to control their bikes with confidence — including starting and stopping safely, maintaining balance, steering, and being aware of their surroundings.

Completing Level 1 isn’t just about riding a bike — it’s about building confidence, independence, and a sense of achievement. For many of our young people, this was a big milestone, helping them overcome fears, try something new, and believe in their own abilities.

The benefits go far beyond the sessions themselves. Cycling promotes a healthy and active lifestyle, improves mental wellbeing, and encourages young people to spend more time outdoors. It also lays the foundation for progressing onto Level 2, where they will begin to ride on roads and develop real-life safety awareness.

We are incredibly proud of every single participant for their effort, determination, and positive attitude throughout. You’ve all done amazing — and this is just the beginning of your cycling journey!

What an incredible Easter HAF Programme 2026 at MMCIC! 🌼

Over the course of just a few days, our young people experienced an action-packed programme filled with fun, learning, and unforgettable moments. From creative arts & crafts and painting sessions 🎨 to exciting movie nights 🍿, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

A real highlight this Easter was seeing 17 young people take part in the Bikeability Level 1 “Learn to Ride” programme 🚴‍♂️ — a fantastic achievement that built confidence, skills, and independence.

We were also proud to launch our very first games room 🎮, giving young people a space to relax, socialise, and enjoy console gaming together — which quickly became a favourite!

The fun didn’t stop there… with visits to local parks 🌳, outdoor play, and team activities, it’s amazing how much we managed to pack into just four days. The energy, laughter, and smiles said it all!

As always, none of this would have been possible without our dedicated staff and volunteers 🙌. Your hard work, care, and commitment created a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for every child.

A big thank you as well to our parents and carers for your continued support — your involvement helps strengthen our community and makes programmes like this even more special.

And finally, thank you to all the children and families who took part. Your enthusiasm and positivity made this Easter HAF truly memorable 🌟
