We're really excited to share that SENDiVERSE Festival 2026 is coming to Bradford and Keighley! 🎉
Coordinated by The Leap, SENDiVERSE brings together a fantastic range of organisations, community groups and creative partners from across the district, all offering exciting activities and experiences for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and their families.

From creative workshops and exciting adventures to opportunities to try something new, SENDiVERSE is all about bringing families together and celebrating creativity, inclusion and community.

📣Mind the Gap is hosting a 'Strength in Numbers' installation from Monday 2 to Saturday 7 November, 2026 📢

This November, Mind the Gap invites you to MTG studios (Silk Warehouse, BD9 4SA) to celebrate the importance of being heard and the power in finding your people. Strength in Numbers is an installation full of stories told by learning disabled and autistic people from Mind the Gap’s community programme supported by The National Lottery Community Fund.

✨Emotionally Based School Avoidance (in-person) support sessions✨

Sessions offering a safe space to discuss your child's difficulties with attending school, led by the Educational Psychology team.
Learn about what you can do to support your child, and what you can expect from school. You will need to be able to attend all four sessions.

⭐Managing 'Behaviours that Challenge' workshop⭐
The Children's Community Support Team (CCST) are running this workshop for parents and carers of children with special educational needs who are experiencing difficulty with their child’s behaviour.
The workshop aims to help parents and carers develop an understanding of:
• Causes of behaviours that challenge
• Why behaviours that challenge can occur
• How to react to the child/young person’s behaviour
• How to respond to the child/young person’s emotions.

These workshops will take place (10am - 1pm)
• Wednesday, 4 November, 2026 Britannia House (Hall Ings, BD1 1HX)
• Friday, 6 November, 2026 at Keighley Town Hall (BD21 3PA)

🎙️Student Voice SEND Hot Topics: Have Your Say!🎙️

Student Councils across the Bradford District are invited to share their views through our latest Student Voice SEND Hot Topic activities.

Each half term, BradStarz, Bradford's SEND Youth Forum, will work with local services to choose a topic they want to hear more about. The Hot Topic questions and activities are designed to help gather views of children and young people who have special educational needs, a disability and/or who are neurodivergent.

The activities are primarily aimed at school councils, but we welcome responses from any groups, organisation or settings that works with children and young people with SEND including those who are home educated.

By taking part, children and young people can help shape services and ensure their voices are heard on the issues that affect them.

⭐Sleep support workshop⭐

This is a workshop for parents and carers of children with special educational needs who are having difficulty with their child’s sleep. The workshop aims to help parents/carers develop an understanding of sleep, including:
• What factors affect sleep
• What factors promote sleep
• Common sleep problems/disorders
• Strategies to support your young person in settling to sleep and with night waking.

These workshops will take place (10am - 1pm)
• Tuesday 10 November, 2026 at Keighley Town Hall (BD21 3PA)
• Friday 20 November, 2026 at Britannia House (Hall Ings, BD1 1HX)
