Huge thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who helped Bradford BEES and Bradford Apple Group with juicing organic apples on Tuesday 15th September.

It was a very productive day of cleaning, chopping and juicing apples to produce our wonderful organic apple juice that will be for sale on Apple Day in Bowling Community orchard.

Each year the volunteers produce many litres of delicious apple juice which will be sold in order to support the upkeep of the organic heritage orchard.

Do come along on Sunday 11th October between 12 and 4pm and try some for yourself. We will be juicing again on the day using a traditional apple press. Come and have a go yourself!

Can you help us with juicing organic apples on Tuesday 15th September?

We will be cleaning, chopping and juicing apples to produce our wonderful organic apple juice that will be for sale on Apple Day 11th October 2026 in Bowling Community orchard. What3Words//wiser.cuts.tight. 12 - 4pm.

The apple juicing will take place from 10am onwards on the 15th. Please call 07970 621732 if you can help for all or part of the day.

This session is held mainly outdoors so you will need to dress for the weather.

Apple Day 11th October 2026 in Bowling Community Orchard 12-4pm.

BEES are getting ready to welcome the community to our 2026 Apple Day.

Can you help by;
- volunteering at the orchard leading up to Apple Day or on the 11th?
- baking cakes and biscuits with an apple/pear theme (GF and Vegan also appreciated)?
- providing apples we can juice using our traditional apple press?
- providing glass jam jars with lids for our chutneys and jams?

We've had 2 fabulous Friday's cutting bracken on Baildon Moor.
Volunteers managed to clear a large area, allowing more room for other plants to regenerate. Luckily the breeze up there kept us cool and the view and dramatic sky were something else.

BEES are excited to have a stall at this family Fun Day in Bowling Park. Come along, try some activities and see what is going on in Bowling Park. We will be promoting Apple Day which is on Sunday 11th October in Bowling Park Allotments (not within the park grounds).

BEES were pleased to be part of a wonderful collaboration project to regenerate the pond at Bradford Moor Park.

All involved had a really productive day helping to clear the pond in Bradford Moor park of some pretty unsavoury articles that have a profound impact on the health and wildlife of the pond (think used nappies and food waste!).

Amanda and Nina worked alongside City of Nature CIC, Bradford District Parks, Yas and Nasim from the Friends Of group, Ned from Business in the Community and John from Outdoor Education.

After much clearing out, four new cages of regenerative plants were placed in the pond, containing;
Yellow Flag Iris
Greater Reedmace
Pendulous Sage,
Goat Willow,
Dogwood,
Bog Bean,
Water Mint,
Water Forget-Me-Not,
Hornwort.
Yellow Fringed Water lily.
A cage of barley straw.

These will help to tackle the issue with algae, improve water quality and increase habitat for wildlife.
