A big thank you to our friends at Ark House Rehab Ltd for visiting us yesterday - it was great to see you and learn more about the fantastic work you're doing in Scarborough.

Earlier this week, Ark also launched the second season of their excellent podcast 'In Recovery'. The podcast aims to inspire hope and change for those struggling with addiction, whilst also helping to educate anyone interested in addiction treatment and recovery.

Each episode features a range of guests from individuals with powerful recovery stories to specialists working within the fiekd. It's an truly inspiring listen!

ARK HOUSE WORKING ALONGSIDE DRUG AND ALCOHOL SERVICES

Yesterday some of the team from Ark House were in Bradford to visit New Vision Bradford, who offer a range of support for people experiencing issues with substances from across Bradford, Keighley, Bingley, Ilkley and Shipley.

Abi Fox, who is the Marketing and Communications Officer was keen to tell us all about two of the vital campaigns New Vision are currently running.

“Naloxone: You Can Save a Life” launched in March 2025 to encourage people to carry Naloxone kits so they are prepared to save lives. Alongside community training, New Vision are working with the University of Bradford to train student nurses.

We also got to see the film New Vision have produced for their campaign which aims to challenge the misconceptions that Ketamine only becomes a problem when use reaches the “extreme”, and to ensure people know that support is available.

It was great to meet some of the amazing team at this vital drug and alcohol service. It was also great to catch up with Abi, who is a former resident of Ark House herself. We are so proud to see graduates doing so well in their recovery and undertaking crucial work in the community.

We had a fantastic day yesterday at Bradford's Combatting Alcohol & Drugs Partnership (CADP) celebration event at Bradford Live

It was a powerful day, full of inspiring stories, valuable insights and important reminders of the difference partnership working can make to the lives of the people we support.

A HUGE well done to the members of Flourish Community Coffee Shop who shared their recovery journeys through moving poetry created as part of the Creative Writing Group - there wasn't a dry eye in the house! 🥲

It was also a great opportunity to see our partners and colleagues, as well as make new connections 💜 We look forward to continuing our work together to tackle alcohol and drug-related harm across the district:
