We will be holding our meetings earlier in the day, we will be introducing some optional wellbeing activities and we will be changing from a drop-in to a (free) members group.

Now the weather is changing and the cold is creeping in, we thought it'd be a good time to remind you that Action Point provide a FREE 'WARM SPACES' DROP-IN ON A MONDAY 9:30 - 12:00.

We serve hot buttered toast and jam and hot drinks. We have table top games to play on site and we also provide free books and DVD's to take home with you!

Just call in! Everyone welcome :)

Another successful year running our uniform swap shop!

We are really pleased to report on the success of our School Uniform Swap Shop, which ran throughout August.

Over the last 12 months, we have been collecting school uniforms donated to our Charity Shop, 2nd Time Around. During August, our wonderful and experienced volunteers, Cath and Lindsay, worked incredibly hard to set up and run the stall, with fantastic support from our new volunteers, Nicolette and Michelle.

As always, Keighley families have been incredibly supportive, donating school uniform items that their children have grown out of or no longer need. This generosity has enabled us to provide good-quality, pre-loved uniforms to local families who need them.
And the numbers really do speak for themselves! 196 local families, representing 339 children, received a total of 1,117 free items of school uniform.

That’s a huge amount of money saved for local families at a time when household budgets are under increasing pressure.

But it’s not just about saving money — it’s about saving the planet too. Through our sorting and recycling process, we have also prevented a significant amount of unwanted textiles from going to landfill.

Once again, the feedback we received has been fantastic and reminds us exactly why we run this initiative.

A Big Thank You to Keighley Market!
This year, we were kindly provided with a stall at Keighley Market, which proved to be a fantastic venue for the Swap Shop.

A huge thank you to Mathew Gibbons, Market Superintendent, who has been so helpful and accommodating throughout. We would also like to thank all the market stall holders, who have been so welcoming and friendly. They really are a great bunch!

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who donated uniform, volunteered their time, or used the Swap Shop. Your support has made a real difference to local families and helped us keep hundreds of items of clothing in use rather than going to waste.

We couldn’t do it without our wonderful community.

It was lovely to meet everyone at Woodbank Garden Centre earlier this week. We were promoting Carelink, along with the other groups and services that operate from Action Point in the centre of Keighley. We will be there again on the first Wednesday of every month, at Keighley Library on the second Wednesday, and at Keighley Leisure Centre on the third Wednesday.
Other events we will be attending this month include:

On the 15th, we will be at the Airedale Seniors Event at Silsden Methodist Church from 2 to 4 pm.

On the 23rd, we will be at the Freshers' Fayre at Keighley College from 12 to 2 pm.

On the 30th, we will be at Dementia Friendly Keighley in the Airedale Centre, Keighley, from 1:30 pm.
