🌊Water Safety Week🌊

Recent water-related tragedies are a stark reminder of the importance of helping children and young people stay safe sound water.

With Water Safety Week taking place next week, we've added a range of water safety resources to the Additional Resources library/Subjects and Issues section of the SCARF website.

These include materials from the RNLI that reflect current safety messages and can support schools supporting pupils to recognise risks and make safe choices around water.

As some of these incidents have occurred within our region, we encourage schools to explore and use these resources to support timely, relevant conversations about water safety.

❤️Lucy and Harold at All Saints' CE Primary School! ❤️

Last week, they delivered our popular RSE workshops to Years 4, 5 and 6, helping pupils to:

🦒Build confidence, body awareness and personal safety
🦒Understand puberty and manage change with confidence
🦒Develop knowledge, respect and healthy boundaries as they prepare for secondary school

Lucy was incredibly impressed by the pupils' engagement, maturity and enthusiasm throughout the day.

Our RSE workshops:
✔️ Fully aligned with DfE statutory RSHE guidance
✔️ Support SMSC development
✔️ Contribute to safeguarding and mental health provision

A huge thank you to the staff and pupils at All Saints for such a warm welcome🧣

🎉"It made me feel comfortable"🎉

Feedback like this is exactly why we love delivering our workshops🦒

Last half-term, Jane and Lucy had a fantastic day at Wainstalls School, delivering Time for Change to Years 5 & 6 and Growing Up Confident to Year 6

Together, they explored growing up, wellbeing, healthy relationships and staying safe. Lucy and Jane were so impressed by the pupils' maturity, engagement and knowledge throughout the day

📸 A special thank you to Oliver for posing with Harold!

🦒Harold had a busy visit to The Gleddings Preparatory School before half-term!🦒

Lower I to Lower IV explored how to keep their bodies healthy and happy - learning about healthy lifestyles, hygiene, nutrition, exercise, sleep and wellbeing through engaging, age-appropriate activities

Meanwhile, pupils in Middle and Upper IV took part in our RSE workshops, 'Time for Change' and 'Growing Up Confident', exploring the physical and emotional changes that come with growing up in a safe and supportive environment

From healthy bodies and wellbeing to growing up and relationships education, it was wonderful to support pupils with these important areas of learning. #

Thank you to everyone at The Gleddings for making us feel so welcome!💛🩶

💚Hirst Wood Nursery School 💚

Before half-term, Julia and Harold had a wonderful time with Hirst Wood, as part of their 'We Are Healthy' week. The children helped Harold get ready for Nursery and learned about some of the things our bodies need to stay healthy and happy.

Together, they explored:
🦒 Personal hygiene
❤️ Important organs such as the heart, lungs and stomach
🥗 Healthy eating and nutrition
🏃 Exercise and movement
😴 The importance of sleep and rest
😊 Looking after our wellbeing

It's always a joy to see young children engaging so enthusiastically with early health and wellbeing education

A huge thank you to everyone at Hirst Wood for making us feel so welcome!

🏫Summer term is traditionally "RSE Season" and it often brings some big conversations into the classroom🏫

Over the past half-term, we've been working with schools across the region, delivering workshops on relationships, puberty, online safety, boundaries and consent. A huge thank you to every school that has welcomed us for far - and to those we're looking forward to visiting this half-term. Your partnership makes our work possible.

What stands out every time is how thoughtful young people are🦒
Their questions aren't usually shocking or inappropriate. They're looking for reassurance:
❔Is this normal?
❔How do I know if a friendship is healthy?
❔What should I do if something online makes me uncomfortable?
❔Why is everyone developing at different times?

This is why high-quality RSE matters

When children have access to safe, age-appropriate information, and trusted adults who are willing to answer their questions, they're better equipped to navigate the world with confidence and respect🧣

For those leading PSHE, RSHE, safeguarding or personal development in schools: what themes are emerging for you?

Are there particular questions, challenges or areas of concern that seem to be coming up more frequently?

👇 We’d love to hear what’s happening in your school

🚭 It’s World No To***co Day!🚭

In our workshops, we help children learn about healthy choices through fun, interactive and age-appropriate activities

By talking openly about topics like to***co and ni****ne, we help children build confidence, knowledge and resilience for the future🦒

Together, we can help young minds grow happy, healthy and strong 💪

🤍 World Menstrual Hygiene Day

Learning about growing up should feel normal, supported, and free from embarrassment.

Through our age-appropriate RSE sessions, we help all children understand the physical and emotional changes they may experience - so they feel prepared, confident, and able to talk openly.

By breaking down stigma and encouraging respectful conversations, we’re helping to create more confident, informed, and inclusive school environments 🦒
