Christians Against Poverty - CAP Debt Centre Telford

Christians Against Poverty - CAP Debt Centre Telford Christians Against Poverty is a well-regarded charity founded in Bradford in 1996. A CAP Debt Centre is not a place but a process.

It is a national organisation specialising in debt counselling for individuals in financial difficulty, including those in need of bankruptcy or insolvency. The organisation works through a network of local Christian churches in such a way that people can experience and respond to the love of Jesus. It seeks to influence government policy and is recommended by Martin Lewis on his website ‘moneysav

ingexpert.com’

What is a Christians Against Poverty Debt Centre? People in financial difficulty telephone CAP headquarters on a free 0800 number requesting help. The local Debt Centre Manager and a befriender visit the enquirer in the privacy of their own home and collect all the financial information. Emergency help may also be provided. On receipt of all details, CAP analyses the problems, recommends a way forward and seeks the client’s agreement to enable him/her to become debt free. The suggested budget provides for payment into a debt repayment fund managed by CAP.
