Desires of your heart ♥️

Desires of Your Heart

If you’re unhappy, lonely, and feel like life isn’t what you dreamed it would be, then it’s time to take a good look at yourself and examine what is the underlying cause of your unhappiness. Ask yourself the hard questions, such as “Am I a positive person?” “Am I thoughtful and kind?” “Am I a person someone would want to be friends with?” Then, dig a little deeper and ask the really important questions: “Where am I at, spiritually?” “Is God first in my life?” “Is my prayer life nonexistent?” If you’re honest with yourself, you may not like some of the answers, but it will help you get a picture of what you need to do to be the person God created you to be. There comes a day when turning the page is the best decision for you because you realize there's so much more to the book than the page you were stuck on. Ask God to come into your heart and life and change you from the inside out. Work on things people can’t take away from you - things like your character, personality, transparency, and your entire being. Pray David’s prayer in Psalm 51:10-12, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” The most effective way to manage change is to create it. If you are lonely, pray for godly friends. A true friend will never force you to fight or chase them for their love and affection. And don’t ever change yourself for the sake of someone else. If they don’t love you for who you are, just move on. Shoes and people have a lot in common. If they hurt you, then they are not the shoes for you - keep looking for a different fit. Be a good person, but don’t waste time trying to prove it. Be your “authentic self” and don’t lose sight of who you are. Remember, you want to live for Jesus - not people. And it’s okay to have dreams. Never settle for less than the life that you deeply desire for yourself. The Bible says in Psalm 37:4, “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Text: Proverbs 16:9, Matthew 7:8, Romans 8:28, Psalm 145:19

God Cares About the Little Things

Many people don’t talk to God about the insignificant things in their life because, well, they feel they just don’t want to “bother” God. But the truth is, there’s nothing too small or too big that you can’t share with God. In fact, He loves it every time you share your heart with Him. And yes, that includes the little details of your life. The Bible says in Luke 12:7, “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Now, it doesn’t get more insignificant than hairs on your head, and yet God says He numbers our hairs! Ask yourself this: do you get irritated when a friend shares little things like when their sink overflowed, their boss was grumpy, their dog ran away, or they were late to work because they couldn’t find their keys? Of course not, for if you really love your friend, you’re interested in every aspect of their life. So it is with God. The minute He hears your voice, “Dear Lord,” He gets excited! And He not only listens . . . but He answers! Don’t be afraid to go to God with small requests, because He wants to help you with everything! He cares about what upsets you, as well as listening to your hopes, dreams, and the things that make you happy. When you pray, just picture in your mind Jesus sitting on the edge of His seat, eyes intently focused on you, eager to hear your every word, and then He asks you this question found in Mark 10:36: “What do you want me to do for you?” Text: Luke 12:27, Matthew 6:8, 26, Psalm 139:17-18

Get Over Yourself

People with poor self-esteem have a difficult time feeling “good enough” and can be their own worst enemy. They constantly look to others to see if they measure up, and the first time they don’t quite get it right, they immediately get down in the dumps thinking, “I’m always such a failure! I can’t ever get anything right!” They don’t take constructive criticism or suggestions well either, often moving to the defensive zone to ward off perceived attacks. But constantly putting yourself down and thinking negative thoughts about yourself is not how God wants you to be. Jesus loves you more than you could possibly know, and just because your talents are different than what He gave someone else, does not make you unworthy, second-rate, or a total idiot! You need to embrace the person who God made you to be, and when you mess up, don’t wallow in the “I blame me” game with thoughts of “I’m such a screw-up,” “I don’t know why anyone would want to be around me,” “I never get anything right,” and so on. Get over yourself! You are not so powerful that you can take credit for all the bad things that happen! Satan gets that blame!! Above all remember that God is your Creator and He “never” makes a mistake! So, instead of self-loathing, praise God for creating you just the way you are, as David did in Psalm 139:14: “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works.” Text: Exodus 4:10-12, Jeremiah 1:6-8, 1 Peter 2:9, 1 Peter 1:18-19

My dear friends, l believe in God I don’t know about you but God loves you as you are. ❤️
