Back in September, Islay CFR team coordinator Jordan and his colleague Barney, attended the Emergency Services Show 2025 at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham. Barney’s identity is protected at his request, due to his work commitments, however they both had a very informative and enjoyable experience networking with lots of different emergency services professionals.

We had the opportunity to speak with HEMS (Air Ambulance Paramedics & Doctors), Ambulance SORT (Special Operations Response Teams), Medical groups, First Responders, Search & Rescue groups, The British Cave Rescue Council, Rescue Divers, Marine professionals, HM Coastguards, Lifeboat crews, Counter Terrorism Police, Training equipment providers, Military personnel, Charities, Fire & Rescue Service personnel & The Director of London Fire Brigade.

This event enables us to learn all about what other services do and the equipment and technology they use. It also provides us with good information, networking and resources that we can benefit from in our own medical group and the CFR Team back on Islay!
