This week across the country, young people will be sitting their SATs, which will be quickly followed by GCSEs, A-levels and 11+ exams... but are we putting too much pressure on our children to be high achievers.
Exam pressure can significantly affect mental health, leading to anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, and reduced overall well-being. With pressures arises from multiple sources, including high expectations from parents, teachers, peers, and self-imposed standards.
Many students often fear failure, and compare themselves with classmates, which intensifies stress levels and contributes to feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt.
Our courses at The Shine Project help young people to build healthy coping mechanisms and develop their emotional resilience, whilst also promoting their physical and mental health.
