We are Winton Primary School PFA (Parents and Friends Association). We are a registered charity , and are a small team headed up by Joss (Chair) and Lizzie (Treasurer). We run events to fundraise for the school with the help of Anna and Naomi (joint Secretaries) , around 15 committee members, volunteers for events, and the support of school teachers . We all know that schools are really underfunde
d which is where charities, such as the PFA are vital to be able to fundraise and buy things for our school that they would otherwise not be able to purchase, to ensure our kids get the very best out of school. We organise a number of very successful fundraising events throughout the year, including the Summer fayre , discos , raffles , playground sales , bingo , Teacher Vs Parents events , and more. We also run the preloved uniform “shop” ; taking in daily donations and selling for a very affordable contribution . Last school year we raised almost £22,000 , which is just amazing . Over the past few years we have used funds raised to help improve facilities for the children in school , including : the outdoor classroom , the outdoor kitchen , the IT suite complete refurbishment , new drums in the music room, and more. Our current major ongoing fundraising project is for playground equipment that needs replacing, along with the play trail resurfacing, which is very expensive ! This is therefore where the bulk of our fundraising efforts from 2024-2025 will be spent along with funding wet play equipment for the classrooms . We are always looking for extra volunteers to help organise and run the various events.
