As we reach the end of the year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been an extremely positive and successful period for our squadron. Although I am still new in post, it has already been a privilege to see first-hand the professionalism, commitment, and enthusiasm shown by our cadets and staff. I am immensely proud of what has been achieved and of the strong foundations already in place by you all.

Throughout the year, our cadets have continued to demonstrate high standards, resilience, and teamwork across training, activities, competitions, and community engagement. These achievements are a credit to everyone involved and clearly reflect the strength and potential of the squadron.

Looking ahead, I am full of confidence and hope for the year to come. We are in an excellent position to build on our successes, raise standards further, and provide even more opportunities for our cadets to develop and excel. I look forward to working with you all as we continue to push forward together.

I would like to thank our staff, civilian committee, families, and supporters for their continued dedication and support. Your commitment plays a vital role in enabling our cadets to thrive.

As we approach the Christmas period, I encourage everyone to take a well-earned break, enjoy time with family and friends, and reflect on the many positives of the past year. I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year, refreshed and ready for the opportunities ahead.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy, healthy, and successful New Year to you all.

What an amazing couple of Flying sessions 130 (Bournemouth) sqn had recently.

Despite some brief weather related delay at our last session, our cadets kept their heads in the virtual clouds by making excellent use of the on site flight simulators.

Every single cadet got airborne and many even experienced thrilling aerobatics! An unforgettable time was had by all.

A recent visit also saw the cadets testing their skills at Table football to which Flt Lt Spivey won with ease.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all our exceptional cadets and devoted staff from 130 (Bournemouth) Squadron who participated in the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph in Bournemouth yesterday.

We are immensely proud of each and every one of you, and you should certainly take great pride in your contributions. Your presentation was impeccable, your behavior was exemplary, and you truly honored both the unit and the broader community.

Our commendations to all.

Cadet successful at 130!

Firstly a very Kate belated congratulations to the 3 newky promoted corporal on achieving their new rank.

More classification progression as cadets progression up to the Master air cadets classification.

And a Silver Radio Communicator awarded proving that no matter your rank there is always more to achieve in the RAFAC.

Congrats all.

First Flights for 130 Squadron Cadets!

Last week, three of our cadets took to the skies for their very first Air Experience Flight in the Grob Tutor T1. They not only got to experience the thrill of flight, but also had the chance to try out some aerobatics – an unforgettable moment for any cadet!

All three came back with huge smiles, and to make it even more special, one of our own officers also had their first ever flight in a Grob Tutor – proving it’s not just the cadets who get amazing opportunities in the RAF Air Cadets.

Flying is just one of the incredible experiences we offer – and this was certainly a day to remember.
