Have your say on accessible healthcare information 💬

Are you blind or partially sighted and living in England? RNIB wants to hear about your experiences of accessing healthcare information and communications.

This could include appointment letters, test results, medication information, messages from healthcare services and digital services such as the NHS App. Whether your experiences have been positive, challenging or mixed, your feedback matters.

The survey takes around 10–15 minutes. Your feedback will support RNIB’s work to improve access to healthcare information and communications.

🏥 Your experiences of care at Frimley Park and Wexham Park hospitals

Throughout 2025, we spoke with patients, carers, visitors, volunteers and staff to understand their experiences of care across both hospitals.

💚 What’s working well?
Patients highlighted the high-quality clinical care and compassionate staff and shared praise for the frontline staff.

🗣️ Where are improvements needed?
Feedback highlighted issues around communication, discharge processes, waiting times and support for vulnerable groups.

We also heard about the barriers faced by older adults, people living with dementia, people with learning disabilities and carers when trying to access timely treatment and care.

💙 A new way to take part in cervical screening - from the comfort of your own home.

The NHS has begun rolling out HPV self-testing kits to millions of women across England who have not attended cervical screening following previous invitations.

The new home testing option offers a simple, private and convenient way to test for high-risk HPV, which can cause changes to cells in the cervix and increase the risk of cervical cancer.

📦 How does it work?

If you’re eligible, you’ll be invited by the NHS and will be able to order a self-testing kit through the NHS App or your NHS online account.

🏠 Take the test privately at home
📮 Return your sample to the NHS for free
🔬 Your sample will be tested for high-risk HPV
📱 If further checks are needed, the NHS will let you know what happens next

The initial rollout is aimed at eligible people aged 30–65 who have not attended cervical screening following previous invitations.

💙 Cervical screening can help prevent cervical cancer.

If you receive an invitation for an HPV self-test, please consider taking part. And if you have already been invited for cervical screening, you can still book your usual appointment.

We conducted an Enter and View visit at Larkland House Care Home in Ascot, in August 2026 with particular focus on independence and choice.

We heard from residents, relatives and staff. The manager provided a comprehensive response to our recommendations.

Overall we could see that there was a good atmosphere in the home and positive relationships between staff and residents.

Improvements were taking place as part of a refurbishment and the manager is keen to ensure the home continues to improve and offer the best facilities for its residents.

Providing information digitally means patients can access their information more quickly. It also helps reduce avoidable delays, support more efficient use of appointments and help reduce waiting times to support a better patient experience.

Patients who are unable to receive digital communications will continue to receive their letters by post.
