Do you know someone in Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths who enjoys volunteering their time to public engagement? Feel free to tag them on this post!

We are hoping to run a Science Busking event in Bourne on 15th October 2022 10am-1pm (covid-allowing). It will be free for anyone to attend, with the expected audience being children and families.

We are hoping STEM ambassadors and local groups will run their own STEM-based exhibits and interactive experiences. People will come and stop at each table for a few minutes, have a play at the fun experiment on offer and then move to the next table. The aim is to make Science Technology Engineering and Maths fun and accessible.

Bourne SciFest is a biennial host of scientific shows, demonstrations and events for school children of all ages in Bourne and the surrounding area.

Who are we? Bourne SciFest is a biennial event organised by a group of volunteers associated with schools in the area to encourage children at all levels in the curriculum to be inspired by science.

What do we do? We organise presenters go into schools with amazing and exciting science shows to engage the children.

Evening Shows The evening shows take place at the Bourne Corn Exchange where a well-known presenter brings a fresh focus each year to the event. So the impetus from the school-based shows is carried on in the lives of children, teachers and families.

How can you help? As you can imagine the cost of staging the SciFest week is considerable and without the dedication of the SciFest Team, donations and the continued support from our sponsors, there could not be such a worthwhile and fantastic event. It is a range of exciting events, for pupils from Nursery to Key Stage 2, going into schools during the whole of the SciFest week. This outreach programme will make science shows accessible to all children. These daytime events are provided free of charge to schools.
