Bangers* in good numbers this morning. Checking out the boxes as a home to breed next year.

*1 or 2 year old birds, that won’t breed this year. They fly up and bang on nest boxes to see if they’re already being used. Hence; Bangers.

13 days of wondering if her partner will return, the wait is over. Much screeching and awkwardness, with 2 birds (with next to no legs) in a confined space.
It’s lovely to have them back, and together again.
Now we wait for eggs. 🙌
