Our amazing Standard Bearer, Lee, attended a memorial service today in Woodhall Spa.

Lee helped the local RBL branch by carrying the Union Jack standard for them.

The memorial was held in recognition of 617 Squadron RAF and marked the 83rd anniversary of Operation Chastise (Dambusters).

A short service was held in the village of Woodhall Spa at the memorial, followed by another service at RAF Woodhall Spa on the old runway where they would have flown from.

In a very fitting tribute, we were treated to a flypast by a Hawker Hurricane, which made it a truly special and moving act of remembrance.

SKDC is pleased to invite local veterans to a special Armed Forces Day Celebration Lunch as we come together to recognise and celebrate your service.

This is a chance to connect with fellow veterans and learn about the district's very special Airborne forces heritage.

Speakers will also highlight the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s enduring role and how RAF Cranwell celebrates its own history.

A truly special celebration today 🎉

Massive congratulations to Ethel on her incredible 107th birthday! What an amazing milestone

Committee member Maureen had the honour of visiting Ethel to mark the occasion and dropped off some beautiful flowers on behalf of everyone at the Royal British Legion - Bourne and District Branch. It was a lovely visit and a wonderful way to celebrate such a remarkable day.

🌺 Thank You, Bourne & District! 🌺

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported this year’s Poppy Appeal through your generosity and kindness.
Thanks to you, the Bourne and District Branch has raised an incredible £33,136.93 so far — beating last year’s total by over £3,000!

And the fantastic news is… we still have until the end of September, so there’s more to come.

As we start the year, we’d also like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and thank our wonderful community, volunteers, businesses, and donors for their continued support.

We look forward to meeting many of you at the community events we’ll be attending throughout the year. Thank you once again for helping us make such a difference. 🌹
