Sunday evening, Cancer Connect 💛

Hope everyone is doing well and having a lovely, restful Sunday evening.

A huge thank you to Macmillan for their incredible support. It was absolutely wonderful to meet Jo and Louise, who were both so helpful, kind and amazingly supportive. We’re feeling very, very grateful for the time, encouragement and care they shared with us. 💛

It really means so much to know that there is such wonderful support around Cancer Connect and the community we’re building together.

We’re already looking forward to our next Cancer Connect meet-up on Friday 18th September! We can’t wait to see everyone again, catch up, share experiences and continue building this special community together.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support, encourage and be part of Cancer Connect. 💛

Whilst many people come along for a coffee, a chat and to meet others who truly understand, Cancer CONNECT is also a place where we can gently signpost you to local services and organisations that may be able to offer additional support.

Whether you're looking for practical advice, wellbeing services, financial guidance, or simply aren't sure where to turn next, we're here to listen and, if you'd like us to, help point you in the right direction.

No pressure. No expectations. Just kindness, understanding, and support whenever you need it. 💛

💛 Who are the faces behind Cancer CONNECT? 💛

For those who may be new to our page, we thought it was time to re-introduce ourselves...

Cancer CONNECT was founded by Sarah, Katy and Carolyn – three local women brought together by a shared passion to ensure that nobody affected by cancer has to face it feeling alone.

💛 Sarah has spent many years working in cancer research and supporting cancer charities, seeing first-hand the importance of emotional support alongside medical care.
💛 Katy has a background in clinical research and now works as an acupuncturist, supporting people living with and beyond cancer every day.
💛 Carolyn brings the invaluable perspective of lived experience following her own cancer diagnosis, along with her passion for helping others through her volunteering and community work.

Together, we wanted to create a warm, welcoming space where anyone affected by cancer – whether you have a diagnosis yourself, are supporting a loved one, are bereaved, or are living beyond cancer – can come for a coffee, a chat, a listening ear, and gentle signposting to local support.

There is no pressure to talk, no expectations, and no judgement. Just kindness, understanding and community.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey so far. We can't wait to welcome familiar faces and new ones when we're back after our August break. 💛🧡
