Bothwell Memory Café

We did something a little bit different today. We grouped our Guests' loved ones together separately to talk about caring and the supports available to make this possible. We were delighted to have the leadership and participation of Dementia Nurse Consultant Jane Mimnaugh (NHS Lanarkshire)and her colleague Claire Henderson. The gathering was enormously successful and our Loved Ones found it very beneficial - they are keen for us to do this again, and so we will do this. Our deepest thanks to them all for sharing so deeply what is in their hearts and what really matters to them, and for being so greatly supportive of each other.

Our Guests, meanwhile, enjoyed an afternoon of Quizzes - judging by the laughter, this too was a great success.

A big welcome from all of us to those Guests coming today for the first time, and also to our newest Volunteers. We are so pleased to have all of you with us and you are so welcome amongst us.

Thanks to our wonderful Guests and their Loved Ones - not only for coming along today to join us, but also for knowing how to play the Old Fashioned Card Games! You still have something to teach us all 😉

What a great opening to the new Season of the Bothwell Memory Cafe! Thanks to all our Guests and their Loved Ones who came and joined us this afternoon for our first Sports Day - and a very warm welcome to those who were joining us for the first time today.

Thanks to our Volunteers, too - returning after a few weeks' break, refreshed and recharged and ready to go again. A special welcome to those Volunteers who joined us today for the first time - great to have you with us!
