⚽ Big Goals for Our Little Community!💚💙

It was great to see so many children enjoying a free football fun day at Appledore Park last Friday.

Bothwell Futures have funded the new goals, and we’ve been working in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council to get the grass cut and pitches lined, helping bring the space back into use for our community.

To celebrate the improvements we hosted our free community football day with Leisure in South Lanarkshire and Sportscotland brining children from our community together to enjoy the open space.

A big thank you to our local councillors Maureen, Kenny, Cal, Steven and our MP Michael Shanks for their continued support.

We also want to say a huge thank you to our board members, who have really pushed for and supported the improvements at Appledore, and to our fantastic volunteers who gave up their time to help make the day a success- what you are doing for our community doesn’t go unnoticed.

Thanks also to The Bothwell Deli for providing the sandwiches and Tesco Uddingston for donating fruit and water for the children. It’s lovely to see local businesses getting behind community events! 💚

We’re so happy to see Appledore Park being used and enjoyed by our community. That’s what all the hard work has been about!

Hopefully this is just the beginning of more activities and opportunities at Appledore Park.
