⭐️VOLUNTEERS WEEK 1-7th JUNE ⭐️

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers at T.S Cottesmore (Boston Sea Cadets). Each giving up so much of their spare/family time for our cadets, whilst also working full time jobs.

So much goes on in the background. Jobs at the unit and boat station, endless paperwork, revalidation of instructor qualifications to teach our cadets, lesson planning, the list goes on 🥵

Without all of our volunteers whether they are uniformed staff, Civilian instructors or the Unit Management team, the unit could not run without the level of commitment and dedication from the whole team!! 👏

Proud CO of the best team!! 💪

Dear supporters, I am asking a big favour can you share this post and if you are a Lincolnshire COOP members card, please vote for us.
Thank you⚓️

I have received this email this week about going through to the next round of voting for Lincolnshire COOP Community grant. So would love your support as it would mean so much to the units fundraising🚣‍♀️🚣

We’re happy to let you know that The Boston Sea Cadets will now go through to the voting stage of Lincolnshire Co-op Community Champions.
As a Co-op it is important to us that our dividend card holders get a chance to have their say on which community groups and charities they’re supporting, so we hold an online vote. Voting will be open to all dividend card holders from 01 Jun 2026 – 14 Jun 2026.
Your group will be up for a vote in the following communities:
Boston Town Centre
To give your group a better chance of success please encourage your supporters to vote. They can do this by visiting www.lincolnshire.coop/ccvote, they will need their dividend card handy.
We will be in touch again after the voting has closed to let you know the outcome – good luck!

Posted on behalf of Alison Lynch- Unit president.

Lincolnshire Co-op's Community Champions is our way of giving back to our local communities. Since 2013 we have helped hundreds of local charities & groups

District regatta 23rd May. Our open girls team were amazing and won gold. They are through to the Area competition 🥳👏.

Our open boys team placed 3rd, however the races were extremely close! A huge congratulations to them for their effort 👌.

A shout out also goes to our awesome staff team which consisted of PPO S Harvey as coxswain, PO Hoadley, PPO Jones, CI Mallabone and our very new Chairman Chris. I would say it was very very close race, but that would be untrue as Wisbech staff team did a great job 🤣, (but they did have more experienced staff) 👍.

Saturday 30th May we held a kayaking Discover, Explore and Go Row 1 rowing course for Boston and Spalding cadets. All cadets and Instructors had fantastic weather and a great day. Lots of qualifications gained, congratulations to all for a great effort. 👏

Last night was a fantastic evening at Boston Sea Cadets as we celebrated the hard work, dedication and achievements of our cadets.

👏 Congratulations to one of our cadets who was presented with their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE), a significant achievement that reflects commitment, perseverance and teamwork.

🚣 We were also delighted to present Paddle Start and Rowing Taster Certificates, recognising the efforts and enthusiasm shown by our cadets as they develop new skills on the water.

⭐ A special well done goes to one of our juniors who successfully gained their Red Badge and was promoted to Junior Cadet First Class. This is a great accomplishment and a testament to their hard work and progress within the unit.

We are incredibly proud of all our young people and look forward to seeing what they achieve next. Keep up the excellent work!

Fundraising event!

Thank you to PO Hoadley and the help of Virgin media for your hard work setting up a Fundraising darts event. The event raised £500.00 thanks to the support of Virgin media colleagues who took part. The funds are greatly appreciated!

Even better, our very own PPO Jack Jones won the tournament, so a huge congratulations to him 👏🎯🏆

Friday night we had a joint division evening with Spalding division cadets. Huge congratulations to all Cadets and Juniors who received promotions, paddle start awards, good conduct badges, basic campcraft and Junior colour badges 👏

Saturday was perfect weather to host a Boston Junior and Spalding cadets boating session. Cadets had taster sessions in rowing, kayaking and power boating, whilst others were
gaining more experience. Finished off with the cold water test. 🌞🛶

Thank you to all the instructors who helped make the day happen.

Our unit president Alison attended Boston united and set up a recruitment stall to help promote the unit. A huge thank you from us all for attending.

We had staff help support new Boston and Spalding cadets complete their water safety test. We then took them for a visit to the boat station.

Lastly, a huge thanks also goes to the team for their support getting jobs done at the boat station and its safety checks.

If you are aged 10 or over and would like to come for a trial session at Boston Sea Cadets, please email [email protected] for more details.
