Boston Sub Aqua Club We are a friendly diving club with all facilities for diver training. We also have access to a Clubroom with classroom facilities.

We own and run a 6.5 metre RIB (Rigid Inflatable boat), and enough basic diving equipment to get you started. We organise many trips each year in the UK and abroad, using our own boat and hiring boats on site. Favourite sites include Plymouth, the Farnes Islands, Mull, Scapa Flow and the Clyde as well as the North Sea from Skegness. We also organise regular trips to the Red Sea. We organise many social events including race nights, quizzes, games nights, cinema nights, barbeques, horse-riding, ten-pin bowling etc.

The last evening (delicious meal and birthday celebrations for Mark B) and a final day in Portland proved to be successful for divers and non divers alike. 10 divers enjoyed another couple of great dives with skindeep in calmer waters today with 5m vis exploring the M2 submarine at 31m depth on the 1st dive. Meanwhile some of those not diving today visited Portland Bill, climbed the Lighthouse and enjoyed the D Day museum. Against all the odds with the weather forecast and very rough sea 🌊 11 of our divers braved 2 dives off Portland today to dive the British Inventor and Countess of Erne wrecks. Let’s say that some were a little green on their return 🤢 but all are looking forward to a delicious meal tonight, good company and more excitement planned tomorrow (hopefully diving the M2 submarine 🤞🏻) 🤿♥️

RED SEA LIVEABOARD TRIP 2026

The Red Sea liveaboard trip was highly anticipated and did not disappoint. Our outbound flight with extra space and plenty of luggage allowance was smooth and well planned. The extra effort of sorting visas beforehand made the journey run like clockwork, and we were soon settling in onboard our Master Liveaboard Blue Horizon. We had a quick check out dive then we were off to explore the treasures of the Red Sea with historic wrecks like the Carnatic, Thistlegorm, Giannis D, Kingston and Dunraven.

We dived famous reefs like Shark, Jackson and Gordons reef in the straits of Tiran as well as scenic night dives on quiet reefs and one evening spent moored outside a lively bar with a light show and music to entertain us.

There was plenty of life both on and below the water with Dolphins, Mantas, Turtles and even a shark along with the usual vast variety of colourful fish and life that only the Red Sea seems to possess in abundance. Needless to say the diving was absolutely fantastic.

Blue Horizon was a spacious and well equipped dive charter with a large dive deck making kitting up easy. Food was to a very high standard with snacks available 24/7 and they provided fresh baked bread onboard along with donuts and cakes for afternoon snacks. I'm sure we will all have gained weight on our trip. All this was included in the price as well as 4 dives a day. The guides were very knowledgeable and the crew were very attentive and worked hard to make everything run smoothly for us.

We had a good mix of divers with varying levels of experience on board with plenty of opportunity to share knowledge, hone skills or refresh forgotten ones. We even managed to include some training with experience dives being logged and progressions signed off. There were plenty of opportunities to explore reefs and wrecks and deal with currents and night dives too. Negative entry and bumpy rides in the zodiacs added to the experiences gained. More importantly though plenty of laughs and fun were had along the way.

Liveaboard trips really are all about the diving, and Blue Horizon excels at this. Liveaboards usually include all costs accept for tips and alcohol so the initial cost might seem expensive but we literally spent nothing else whilst onboard.

In summary it was a fabulous trip which was very well organised and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

As a club we are always striving to improve, so now we are getting so much busier we decided to upgrade our compressor setup. After much research one of our eagle-eyed members spotted this fantastic system for sale.

It's a newer version of the compressor the club has been running for a good number of years so we know that they are good. The difference with this setup is that it also runs a "bank". This is where you have storage cylinders (4 in our case) that the compressor fills, you then decant the air from these to fill the dive cylinders.

The advantage with this system is that we can fill 4 cylinders at a time and they fill a lot quicker too. You don't usually get systems like this at clubs, it's the sort of setup that you get at commercial dive centres.

We also have the benefit of a large club house with a bar and dance floor for social events. We have full classroom facilities with a projector screen for PowerPoint presentations during lectures and a fantastic fully equipped 6.5 MTR RIHB Which we use to dive sites all around the UK, we also have access to a second RHIB and we love to organise dive trips abroad too. We welcome divers from all organisations.

Recently Boston Sub Aqua Club and Lincoln Sub Aqua Club spent a week at the Poacher International Scout and Guide camp on the Lincolnshire Showground where 10.700 Scouts and Guides were on site. Nearly 700 participants had a try dive in a pool specially bought in for the event.

When the young people arrived for their try dive they watched a safety briefing and were then kitted up in scuba gear before they entered the pool. Once they were confident in breathing under the water they were encouraged to find different coloured plastic shapes that were on the bottom of the pool which made up pictures that were on laminated cards.

On Wednesday evening a session was held for a group of special needs children who really enjoyed this experience. Two of the Mums shed tears of delight when their children (for various reasons) not only got into the pool but actually went under the water looking for the coloured shapes. Another participant enjoyed it so much that his Mum contacted his local diving club and joined him up to start his adventure into the wonderful world of Scuba Diving.

The Jersey / Guernsey Guides were the first groups in the pool, they were then followed by children from all over Europe.

Every person who did the try dive left the pool grinning from ear to ear. It was enjoyed by many who returned for another go. It was such a successful event that as a club we have been asked to attend other Scout Camps. Here's hoping to bring the joy of Scuba Diving to many more Scouts and Guides. A huge thank you to all the Instructors who were in the pool and also the volunteers who helped with the logistics of transporting equipment and filling cylinders.
