The Butterfly Hospice Trust Your local hospice for local people. The Butterfly hospice sits within 4 acres of grounds near to Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, Lincolnshire.

The Butterfly Hospice - We are an independent, local charity working to provide palliative and end of life care to people with a life-limiting illness. We offer palliative and end of life care to anyone over the age of 18 years free of cost to them and their family. Working in partnership with other healthcare providers, the hospice provides inpatient facilities, including symptom control, respite and end of life care. We rely on the generosity of our community for the majority of our funding. Our work can only continue with the support of local people, companies and organisations that give their time and money to fundraise on our behalf. Our thanks go to them and our staff and volunteers in the hospice and shops for their hard work and

This World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded of the importance of talking, listening and making space for the experiences that can affect our mental health.

Grief, living with a life-limiting condition or supporting someone you love through difficult circumstances can bring feelings that aren’t always easy to navigate.

Here at the Butterfly Hospice, our one-to-one counselling service offers a safe and confidential space to talk, be heard and feel supported.

Our therapy may be able to support you if you are:
💙 Struggling with grief following the death of a loved one
💙 Caring for or supporting someone with a life-limiting condition or approaching the end of their life
💙 Living with a life-limiting condition yourself and finding its emotional or physical impact difficult to manage

You don’t need to have a previous or current connection with our Hospice to access this support.

Sessions can be offered face-to-face at our Therapy Village, by online video call or over the telephone. Helping you access support in the way that feels right for you.

Hospice care shouldn’t be left to chance and there are so many ways you can help.

Throughout Hospice Care Week, we’ve been shining a light on the importance of hospice care and the difference it can make to local people and their families.

But behind everything we do is a community of people who choose to support us.

You might make a donation. You might volunteer your time, take part in a fundraiser, shop with us, donate your pre-loved items or simply help more people in our community hear about the work we do.

However you choose to get involved, you become part of the community that helps make our care possible and continue into the future!

This Hospice Care Week, we wanted to share a personal message from our CEO about what The Butterfly Hospice Trust means to our community and why the support we receive matters.

“When I think about what Butterfly means to our community, I think about the people who come through our doors. Someone needing comfort and care. A family wanting to stay close. Someone who needs a listening ear during bereavement.

As CEO, part of my role is to look ahead and help make sure that support will be here for the next person and the next family who need us.

As a charity, we rely on fundraising, donations and income from our shops to help sustain the support we provide. Every contribution helps us keep the Hospice running and plan with confidence for the future.

My ask this Hospice Care Week is simple. If you can, please support Butterfly in a way that works for you. That might be shopping in one of our charity shops, giving a little of your time, organising a fundraiser, making a donation or helping us spread the word about the care and support we offer.

To everyone who already supports us, thank you. Behind every act of kindness is someone helping another family through a difficult time.”

Good news! Our Furniture Warehouse & Donation Centre and Boston Store are again ready to welcome your donations 🦋

A huge thank you to everyone who kindly held on to their items while we worked through the incredible volume of donations we had received. Your patience and understanding have been very much appreciated.

We’d also like to say a very special thank you to our fantastic staff and volunteers at the Furniture Warehouse & Donation Centre, who have worked tremendously hard to sort, organise and distribute the backlog.

Hospice care shouldn’t be left to chance.

This week is Hospice Care Week, providing an opportunity to celebrate hospice care across the UK, while also shining a light on why it matters and the challenges facing hospices across the country.

Here at The Butterfly Hospice Trust, we see every day what hospice care means to local people and their families. It’s care, comfort and support, but it’s also about helping people spend their time in the way that matters to them, surrounded by the people they love.

This year’s Hospice Care Week carries an important message: Don’t leave hospice care to chance.

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing a little more about what that means for us, why your local Hospice matters and the many ways you can ensure we continue to be here for local people and their families.
