Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) LCVS is a charity working in a variety of ways to support the health and wellbeing of communities and individuals.

Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) provides support to the voluntary and community sector in Lincolnshire, helping people to achieve their personal and organisational goals, creating partnerships and building strong communities. We support community groups to get established, survive and thrive by providing help and guidance with paperwork and governance, resources, sourcing fundi

ng and finding and training volunteers. We promote volunteering through our four accredited Volunteer Centres, matching would-be volunteers with opportunities and supporting volunteer involving organisations to recruit, train and retain volunteers. In addition, LCVS delivers and enables health-related community projects.

We've been busy supporting our local transport partners and raising the profile of community transport in Lincolnshire! Here's a look at what we've been up to in September : ๐Ÿš—

We attended the Community Transport Association's annual conference in London, catching up on the latest sector news to ensure we're providing the best possible support to our local schemes. ๐Ÿค

We also had a great time at the PCN networking event in Boston, connecting with professionals and sharing our Wellness Driver campaign. We highlighted the vital importance of initiatives that empower volunteers and support the social well-being of our communities. ๐Ÿ“…

To round out the month, we held our third Lincolnshire Community Transport Consortium meeting. It was fantastic to bring together local services from all over the county to discuss current challenges and opportunities for the future. The road ahead is looking bright! We're committed to supporting and empowering our partners, ensuring everyone can benefit from these vital community-led services.

We've teamed up for an incredible new partnership to boost well-being across our community!

We're proud to announce that LCVS is partnering with the brilliant service providers at Lincoln Dial a Ride to bring the Wellbeing Driver campaign to life.
Here's how this unique co-production works:

๐Ÿš—Our Role (LCVS): We're running the campaign and recruiting the compassionate, community-minded people needed. We find the talent!
๐Ÿš—Their Role (Lincoln DialaRide): They are the experts in service delivery, ensuring those vital journeys happen safely and efficiently. They manage the routes and the rides!

Ever wonder what Community Transport is all about? It's so much more than just a ride! ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿš

At its heart, Community Transport is a lifeline for people and places where public transport doesn't go or where mobility issues prevent safe or confident access to services. It relies heavily on volunteers and local schemes providing essential journeys to keep our communities connected and thriving.

Here's what it does:
๐Ÿ”น Combats social isolation by helping people stay connected to friends, family, and social activities.
๐Ÿ”น Provides access to vital services like medical appointments and grocery shopping.
๐Ÿ”น Empowers volunteers and drivers who make these journeys possible.
๐Ÿ”น Connects communities and fills the gaps where traditional bus routes are not available.

Essentially, it's about making sure no one gets left behind. It's people power on wheels!

We will be having an open session on Tuesday 14th October from 10:00am to 2:00pm for anyone to come and have a look at the remaining items in our Boston office at the Boston Borough Council offices in West Street.

There are lots of A4 folders, box files, clear plastic wallets and other office stationary items that can be taken free of charge.
