Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, and this Volunteers’ Week, we’re celebrating the incredible people who give their time to help make a difference across Lincolnshire.

Some stories go unheard for far too long.

Hidden Voices is shining a light on the experiences of serving personnel, veterans, and military families who can often struggle to access the right mental health and wellbeing support. Developed by HWLincs with funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, the project brings together resources, support, and real insight from the armed forces community across Lincolnshire.

If you’re part of the military community, or support someone who is, this is an important resource to explore and share.

What an incredible day at the second HWLincs annual VOICE Conference 2026 📣

Thank you to everyone who joined us to reflect on the importance of independent public voice and the future of health and social care across Lincolnshire. The energy, passion, and collaboration in the room throughout the day truly demonstrated the power of partners and communities coming together to create positive change. The reaffirmation of the VOICE PLEDGE marked a renewed sense of purpose and shared determination to drive deeper, more meaningful public engagement.

We were proud to share highlights from our annual report, launch our new HWLincs strategy framework, and hear inspiring discussions focused on ensuring public voice remains at the heart of decision-making.

A special thank you to all of our speakers, workshop leads, exhibitors, volunteers, partners, and attendees for making the event such a success, and to the HWLincs team for all of their hard work behind the scenes.

We hope everyone left feeling inspired, connected, and motivated to continue elevating public voice within their own organisations and communities.

We look forward to sharing more highlights, reflections, and outcomes from the conference....

What happens when patient voice organisations lose their independence?

A new report from The King's Fund looks at what can be learned from Healthwatch as its functions transfer into NHS and Local Authority structures.

The report is clear, independence has always been crucial to Healthwatch's credibility. People trust the organisation because it sits outside the system it's meant to scrutinise.

As these functions transfer, the key question is whether that independence can be maintained. Can organisations embedded within the system still speak uncomfortable truths to power?

Are you caring for someone with cancer, or managing your own diagnosis while caring for others?

We've put together a free resource to help carers across Lincolnshire find the right information and support, in one place. It was built around real conversations with people who've been there, so it covers what actually matters.

Access the Cancer and Carers Support resource here:

This April is Bowel Cancer Awareness month, a chance to help raise awareness so everyone has the best chance of an early diagnosis.

When diagnosed early, nine in ten people survive bowel cancer, so learning how to use the NHS bowel cancer screening kit has never been more important.

In a video prepared by NHS Lincolnshire, Dr. Pawan Randev explains the importance of completing the NHS bowel cancer screening kit and provides a step-by-step guide to ensure early detection and treatment.
