A few more photos from Open Farm & Vintage Weekend 2026, with a congratulations and a massive thank you.
Congratulations to Roy and Richard Hales for being awarded the Rose Farm award. This is in recognition for their hard work over many years, giving their time for free to help put on the event.
Our thanks goes to Michael Sly and Park Farm - Thorney for again giving us the opportunity to help put on this fantastic event. It allows us to demonstrate to the general public farming methods and techniques of yesteryear, help raise funds for air ambulance and other local charities and allows our members to work their machinery.
Here's to the next 20 years of Open Farm!

Get your pencils and diaries to hand. The dates for Open Farm and Vintage Weekend are now set. Apologies for any confusion on any previous posts.

We got a bit excited the other day and shared the dates for Open Farm next year but have since found out they have changed!

Please mark your calendars for Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th June 2027 🚜

Now that's the dust has settled on Open Farm & Vintage Weekend 2026, what a weekend! Thank you to all the people and our members that gave their time for free and companies that brought machinery and livestock to help put this fantastic event on. We are very very grateful. The dates are now in for next year's show. 5th and 6th of June 2027, so get them pencilled in your diaries ready.

Yesterday was a great day for the Open Farm team.
Park Farm, volunteers and PFMPS gained recognition from LEAF (organisers of Open Farm Sunday ) for their involvement over the last 20years of Open Farm Sunday with a presentation to Michael Sly and Martin Stuffins from HRH Duchess of Edinburgh at Leckford Estate.
It’s certainly a milestone for everyone involved in organising along with the public whom attend (getting to see farming in a real environment)

So last Night The PFMPS Committee members met at Park Farm - Thorney to discuss what's going where with regards to the Vintage side of Open Farm & Vintage Weekend 2026. As always we had to go have a little look at the Pick Your Own Potatoes. Despite how dry it has been, things look very well. With 11 days to go it looks like there will be Potatoes to pick.

We'll be working again BSR at Open Farm & Vintage Weekend 2026 at Park Farm - Thorney in a couple of weeks time. If you need a Security firm we can certainly recommend them. Now that's Carrington Rally over for another year and the dust has literally settled. What a weekend?!?! For those that missed it, what a scorcher! Some people we spoke to were reminiscing about the "good ol days" when Carrington used to mean a wet weekend 😆😆.
We'd now like to share our appreciation. Firstly to the Members of Carrington Rally - Steam & Heritage Show for inviting us to put on a display at the show. A massive thanks goes to our members for bringing parts of their collection to help put on another fantastic display. We'd also like to thank G & J Peck Ltd for their continued support of the Society. It is greatly appreciated 😊.

Another video from today. Member Steve Kitchen aka The Fenland Crusader running his Threshing drum. If you'd like to see it action I'm sure he'll be running it up again tomorrow at Carrington Rally - Steam & Heritage Show tomorrow. It'll also be having wheat sheaves put through it at Open Farm & Vintage Weekend 2026 at Park Farm - Thorney with some help from members of Haddenham Steam Rally.
