Youth work should be brave enough to let young people change it.
VIBE SZN 7: THE SHIFT began as a weekly live action comic. We brought together episodic storytelling, curated music, immersive art and augmented reality to create a story world that young people could step into and shape.
When the use of AI graphics didn’t reflect their values, young people challenged them. We listened. We heard how young people are worried about the environmental consequences of using AI. So we stopped. Their photographs and voices took over. We handed them the paint markers and their ideas became permanent parts of our building.
We also started a youth leadership group called VIBE Core and supported them to take ownership of the story and VIBE itself.
Behind the creativity our youth workers are building trusted relationships and supporting young people to explore who they are. We design experiences worth turning up for, where making friends can lead to finding your confidence and your place in the world.
“VIBE is where I belong.”
Those words matter and so does giving young people a genuine say in the place they call their own.
We are here to listen and to advocate.
