A sharer opportunity has become available for one of Thornton Rose RDA’s horses, for 2 days each week (a choice of Mondays, Fridays and Sundays).
The horse is on grass livery in Midlothian, so stable duties are not required. Tasks such as feeding, rug changes and other basic daily care as well as riding is required on the sharer’s days. A financial contribution is required.
OLLIE (this lad needs no introduction, if you know, you know!) is a 15hh cob gelding in his late teens with plenty of get up and go! Due to his RDA duties, we implement a 14 stone weight limit for his riders.
He is involved with our RDA sessions on Wednesdays and Saturdays and is a firm favourite among participants and volunteers!
His ideal sharer must be a competent and confident rider. He has some quirks which will be discussed- no badness or spookiness at all, but is a cheeky chappy and wants to get out and explore!
He will hack all day (we have fantastic off-road hacking surrounding the yard) and will school with a confident rider, but not his favourite! Due to his age and old injuries, he is strictly not allowed to jump.
Over 18’s only please- due to the location of his field there is no convenient public transport. Sharer’s own rider insurance must be organised and any potential sharers will need to complete standard PVG checks and volunteer paperwork.
