We had the most wonderful time celebrating Eid with our incredible ladies from Precious Gems women’s group based at High Street Library. The room was full of delicious food, wonderful friendships, and endless laughter.
A massive thank you to Maria and the amazing team for organizing such a beautiful party and bringing everyone together. ❤️

We spent a wonderful afternoon celebrating the 160th anniversary of Queen's Park!
Our team had a fantastic time connecting with members of the community, chatting about Precious Gems, and showcasing some beautiful crafts handmade by the talented ladies in our groups. To make the day even more special, our team also treated visitors to some well-deserved pampering! 💅💆‍♀️
A huge thank you to our amazing team for all their hard work and support, and a heartfelt thanks to Friends of Queens Park Bolton and everyone who stopped by to visit our stall!

Lovely session today at our Arts and Crafts group!🌸
We run this group in collaboration with Bolton Library and Museum Services and these ladies had a great time together making beautiful pipecleaner flowers. 💐 Nothing beats great company and a bit of creativity!

Today the Precious Gems team spent the day at Victoria Square for the Dementia Awareness event 💎

We had great conversations with the community about the work we’re doing to support people living with dementia and their carers. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared your stories, and learnt more about what we do.

Together we’re building more understanding, more support, and a stronger community for all.

Our Fashion and Identity oral history project recently spent time with the incredible archives at Bolton Library and Museum Services
We dove into historic textile books and 100 years old fabric samples to see where Bolton’s heritage meets the personal histories of Asian and African women in our community.

The connections were amazing:
Ladies shared stories of relatives who worked right here in Bolton’s mills.
We also found striking similarities between patterns designed a century ago and the traditional clothing worn by African and Asian community today.

A huge thank you to Matthew for leading such an inspiring session! His expertise helped us navigate these archives and uncover the stories hidden within the fabric.

It’s a powerful reminder that fashion isn’t just about what we wear, it’s a bridge across cultures, generations, and history. 🌍👗
