We are already looking into the next international trip for Scouts and are looking at Norway in summer 2028! We will be looking at around 7 days during the school summer holidays, fully catered meals throughout and we will be flying (no long coach trips wasting a couple of days activities as I can’t do them 😂). Possible activities to include:
• white water rafting
• mountain biking
• high ropes & zip line
• guided hike
• guided canoe trip
• rock climbing & abseiling
• stand up paddle boarding
• time spent in Evje
• day trip to Kristiansand

We are in very early stages of organising this but the price is likely to be £1,500 to include everything except spending money. We would strongly suggest that fundraising is done by the young person going as it gives them a sense of achievement and makes it more possible for families. We had several Scouts fundraise the full amount for our last international trip (£1,500).

This will be a joint trip with our local Explorer group and possibly another local Scout group so will available to anyone who will be at least 11 years old and under 18 years old on 31 August 2028 and actively involved in Scouting (either in Scouts, Explorers or as a Young Leader).

I have a request: please please please teach your children your address and mobile number for emergencies - even the little ones. Whilst working today I found an 8 year old who was out on their own, totally lost, didn’t know the address they had come from and didn’t know any phone numbers. They had been walking at least 1hr on their own in the cold, wet and hail without a coat! Don’t let this be your child

This coming Friday is our family bingo event. Don’t forget this is primarily aimed at being for family groups so that we can have fun together and get to know each other. Tickets are £2 per person which includes a bingo card and a raffle ticket.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out! Share this post or even get a ticket yourself, even if you don’t need the prize, it’s a perfect time to gift it! I’ve extended the draw date to Friday 5th December as the deadline for scout payment is the 6th.

C’mon guys please take part or share! I have had a great response to this raffle but do need to sell more tickets to make it worthwhile due to the cost in creating the prizes.
