☀️ Summer holidays can often play havoc with band rehearsals, but we've been fortunate to have some fantastic support over the past few weeks.

Eagley Band would like to thanks to John Atkinson for being part of our series of guest conductors while we were in the process of recruiting a new Musical Director. Your time, expertise and enthusiasm have been greatly appreciated by everyone at the band.

It has also been wonderful to welcome some familiar faces back into the band room over the summer. A big thanks to Rory, Lyns and Steve for joining us and helping to keep the music flowing.

We really appreciate everyone's support and look forward to an exciting new chapter ahead! 🎶🎺🥁

On Sunday 5th July, around 70–80 members of the Eagley Band, Community Choir and Community Band came together for a very special occasion, a heartfelt farewell to Chris Wormald.

It was an afternoon filled with music memories and plenty of laughter… helped along by the refreshments! Carrs pasties were enjoyed by all and the cake table was a triumph thanks to Tina’s incredible chocolate celebration cake, Jane’s famous lemon drizzle and Pauline’s scrumptious carrot cakes.

We also took a moment to show our appreciation with presentations and gifts for Gwyneth, Ann, and Jane, recognising the wonderful support they have given to both the Community Choir and Community Band over the years. Their dedication has made such a difference.

A special thank you was also given to John, not only for his stalwart commitment to Eagley’s bass team, but for his legendary Jenga‑like skills when packing the van for our concerts. His ability to make every instrument, stand and case fit perfectly is nothing short of magic and very much appreciated!

🎶 It was a truly lovely afternoon of celebration of the amazing friendship that has grown over so many years through community 🎶
