We are still getting calls of concern about hedgehogs still coming out at night and daytimes too.

These hogs need urgent help and what we refer to as “ Autumn Orphans”…such hogs are born late in the year and don’t have enough time to put sufficient body fat on to survive hibernation through the winter.

Consequently these underweight hogs are out foraging for food at all hours but as natural food is now at a minimum they lose more weight than they gain being active in such fruitless searches.
If you do see any hogs out and about please confine them and contact ourselves or other centres which you can find on the following website …. Helpwildlife.co.U.K.

Breakfast time for the neighbourhood birds at the Wildlife Hospital, as the winter weather escalates more and more birds visit with each passing day.
May we urge readers to also set up a feeding station for your local birds too, various birds require various feed stuffs all of which is readily available in most supermarkets, Home Bargain’s, pound shops etc
An ideal menu for your feathered friends is ..
Mixed corn
Fat balls
Pea nuts
Mealworms
Bread isn’t an ideal food but better than nothing
