A big thank you to our friends and colleagues at Bolton Carers Support for the excellent Carers information and awards day held at Thicketford House. It was really well attended with lots of info and support.

Carers Equip this week features a visit from Age UK Bolton another local charity offering a range of services and support. All our sessions are running as usual this week - hopefully see you there

We also have our usual Music in Mind sessions at the Toughsheet on Thursday afternoons and New Bury in Farnworth on Wednesdays - we always welcome new players - no musical experience necessary!

💜A full programme of events this week and in addition we will have a stall at the Bolton Carers Day event run by Bolton Cares at our shared office base Thicketford House on Wednesday from 11.00 am to 3 pm if you want to drop in and say hello as well as access some of our colleagues services.💜

There is a whole week of activities planned for Carers Week so have a look at the flyer attached.

We are very pleased to have Ryan from the Manchester Camerata🎶 coming to speak at Carers Equip on Tuesday. He will be explaining the value and therapeutic role of music🎶 for people living with Dementia, some of the science behind the Music in Mind programme as well as capturing the joy of making music together at our Music in Mind sessions.

How does Empowered Conversations help people?

"I have slowed down when spending time with my mam. I try not to ask so many questions. I try to spend quality time with her rather than rushing to do chores and other jobs. I think about how she feels rather than how I think she should feel. I have taken a lot from the course that I am using daily".

"Learning to enhance and enrich my conversation with my husband to our MUTUAL benefit".

We have 24 people referrals so far, we need 128 for Greater Manchester - so please keep sharing the poster!

Today we were at the town square giving out Dementia information local to bolton, Beijing was the star of the show as always 🐕 we will be back at bolton central library tomorrow from 9.30am

💜💜This week is Dementia Awareness Week. For many of us every week is Dementia Awareness week however this is a good opportunity to meet new people and offer our support. It's also a great opportunity to find out about what other support is available.

We will be in the Town Hall Square on Monday ( brollies at the ready!) and our Carers Equip this week will be in the Central Library in Bolton on Tuesday so do come down. 💜💜

The Music in MInd sessions still have spare capacity so why not come down
