⚓ NATIONAL CADET WEEK 2026 ⚓

This National Cadet Week, we’re celebrating everything that makes being a Sea Cadet such an amazing experience! 🌊

At Bolton Sea Cadets, our cadets aged 10–18 have the opportunity to learn practical skills, build confidence, make lifelong friendships and try things they may never have experienced before.

🚑 First Aid – learn valuable lifesaving skills and how to respond in an emergency.

🥁 Drill – develop teamwork, discipline, confidence and leadership.

⚓ Seamanship – learn about boats, ropes, knots, navigation and life on the water.

🔧 Engineering – discover how engines and mechanical systems work and develop practical skills.

👨‍🍳 Catering – learn cooking, food preparation and catering skills, including catering for groups and events.

And then there are our waterborne activities! 🌊

🚣 Rowing
🛶 Kayaking
🚤 Powerboat Driving
🏄 Windsurfing

From learning how to tie your first knot to taking control of a powerboat, there are opportunities to learn, challenge yourself and achieve something new.

Being a Sea Cadet isn't just about boats. It's about confidence, teamwork, resilience, responsibility and having experiences that stay with you for life. 💙

If you’re aged 10–18 and looking for something different, why not come and see what Bolton Sea Cadets is all about?

⚓ Learn skills. Make friends. Build confidence. Have adventures.

Bolton Sea Cadets – where the adventure begins! 🌊⚓

Alternatively you might be interested in working with young people as a volunteer member of staff, all training provided.

Either way get in touch, or pop along to the AGM on Wednesday 28th October , to find out more 🙂

Good luck to all our cadets receiving their GCSE results today.

Remember you are always more than a number on a piece of paper and as the great Winston Churchill said "Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts."

We are so proud of three of our amazing cadets who all received Lord Lieutenant Commendations at a beautiful service in Gorton Monastery on Tuesday. They all received them for going above and beyond in their cadet careers and demonstrating our Corps values of Loyalty, Honesty and Integrity, Commitment, Respect, Courage and Self Discipline.

A massive well done to Cpl Oscar, Cpl Orla and POC Lucy for your amazing achievements. Onwards and Upwards.
