💚 SEND Listening Ear – We are here to help 💚

We understand that parenting a child with SEND can feel overwhelming at times.

The SEND Listening Ear service offers simple, one-to-one support for parents and carers. You will be matched with a volunteer who understands the SEND journey and the reality of what it can bring 🫂

📱 Someone who will be there on the other end of the phone when you need to talk.
😢 Someone who understands the language, the systems, and the emotions.
☕ Someone you might meet for a brew and a chat from time to time.

Self-referrals are open. No diagnosis needed, we know that's part of the battle! 💪🏻

Aww this is just what Reach is all about 🙌🏻👇🏻

Lorraine, one of our lovely volunteers, befriends both Daphne and Doreen, who happen to live near each other. Around a month ago, Lorraine introduced them to one another, and since then they always ask about each other whenever she visits 💜

Both ladies celebrated turning 90 in May, and this beautiful photo was taken at Daphne’s birthday celebration 🎂💐

We love that Lorraine has connected them as well as built her own friendship with them both, that's a perfect example of the difference our befriending volunteers make 👏🏻

On Thursday the team said goodbye to Hayley. Hayley has been a key part of the Befriending staff team for the past few years after initially volunteering with us 👏🏻

If you've referred anyone over 80 to us then Hayley would have been the first person they met from Reach 💜

She will be massively missed and we wish her all the best with her future plans 👋🏻

For our SEND families ❤️

🎨Creative Pathways 🖌️

We are really excited to be starting Creative Pathways, a small, gentle group for children aged 10–16 who are struggling to attend school because of anxiety 🌿

The group will use creative activities to help children feel calmer, build confidence and improve their mental wellbeing, while being around others who understand ❤️

There will be no pressure, no expectations, just a safe, welcoming space where children can take things at their own pace.

😌 Places will be very limited.
📅 Starting 8th June.

Something as simple as 1 hour visit a week can mean the world to someone who's lonely and isolated 🫂

David is one of many elderly people in Bolton who is struggling with loneliness and poor health. Most of whom live alone and are feeling forgotten🥺

Right now we have 26 older people across Bolton who are waiting for someone like you to simply be there 💔

On Saturday 6th June, an amazing group of children will be taking part in IronKids to raise funds for Reach 💜❤️💚
