Update on Monkey ๐ ๐๐ชฝ
When Monkey came into our care with her Mum and brother, she had a pr*****ed bowel as an unfortunate side effect of being born with no tail. We took her to the vets and they put in a stitch, initially this was doing a great job at helping Monkey but after a few days the stitch failed and the prolapse started to happen again.
So we took Monkey back to the vets as she wasnt going to the toilet herself either, Monkey was put on laxatives and checked over. Things seemed well so we continued her care back at the shelter. The day after Monkey pr*****ed again, this time it went back in on its own. Monkey was having regular check ups booked in with the vets every other day and we were hoping that the laxatives would help long term to aid her going to the toilet. Unfortunately after a few days she started with diarrhea so we had to stop the laxatives.
The prolapses started to happen more and more and today we had to rush Monkey back to the vets as it was the worst prolapse yet.
After weeks of trying to help poor Monkey today we had to make the heart breaking decision to let Monkey go to sleep as she was suffering far too much for a kitty so young, she was in a lot of pain and we had tried all avenues to help her but sadly she had gotten worse.
Rest in peace sweet Monkey, you are no longer in pain ๐ we loved caring for you whilst we could, and we are so sorry we couldnโt do more to help you sweetheart ๐ชฝ๐โค๏ธ
This is one of the harsh realities of not neutering your cats, over breeding causes deformities which can lead to animals suffering ๐
We are seeing an increased number of stray kittens at the moment, especially those suffering from sickness!๐ญ We are currently full to bursting and need your help, if youโd like to donate to us we would be grateful of any food or cat litter donations to support the animals in our careโค๏ธ
