Five players. Five charity matches. One incredible journey. 💙⚽

From our very first charity match in 2022 to our most recent event at the weekend, five members of the Talking Football family have been there every step of the way.

They’ve pulled on the shirt, battled on the pitch, shared the laughs, created memories and helped make each event something truly special.

These matches are about so much more than football — they’re about community, connection, raising awareness and showing the power of coming together.

A huge thank you to our five ever-present players for your continued support, commitment and for being such an important part of the Talking Football story.

Here’s to the next chapter… and hopefully many more charity matches to come. 👏💙

Men’s Health Week 💙

This Men’s Health Week is a reminder of something incredibly important — looking after our health is not just about how we look or how strong we are on the outside, it’s about how we feel, how we cope, and how we support each other.

The principle behind Men’s Health Week is simple: to raise awareness of the health issues that affect men, encourage men to take action, and create a culture where talking about our health — both physical and mental — becomes normal.

For too long, many men have been taught to keep things to themselves, to “get on with it” and not show vulnerability. But staying silent can have a huge impact.

Men’s health is about:
⚽ Checking in with yourself and your mates
🧠 Talking when things feel difficult
❤️ Looking after your mental wellbeing
💪 Taking care of your physical health
🤝 Knowing that asking for support is a strength, not a weakness

A conversation can change someone’s day. A question like “How are you really doing?” can open a door that someone might have been afraid to walk through.

At Talking Football, we see every week the power of connection, community and simply giving men a place where they can be themselves. Football is the reason we come together, but the conversations, friendships and support are what make the biggest difference.

This Men’s Health Week, check in on yourself. Check in on your mates. Start the conversation.

Because men’s health matters. 💙

WE ARE ON THE EVE OF OUR 5TH ANNUAL CHARITY FUNDRAISING MATCH ⚽❤️

Tomorrow, we come together once again for what promises to be another special day — a day of football, friendship, memories, and most importantly, making a difference.

We are incredibly grateful for the amazing generosity shown so far. The support, donations and messages we have received have been truly humbling.

But we know we can still raise more. Every single donation, no matter the size, has the power to create a positive impact for two organisations that mean so much to us.

70% of all money raised will go to Alzheimer’s Society 💙

Your donations will help support people living with dementia, their families, and fund vital research into the future.

For example:

💙 £20 can help a Dementia Adviser support a family following a recent diagnosis.

💙 £50 can help fund an adviser to connect people with local groups and vital support services.

💙 £100 can help fund research working towards ending the devastation caused by dementia.

30% of all money raised will come back to Talking Football ⚽💚

This will help us continue building a safe, welcoming community where men can come together, play football, build friendships and improve their mental health and wellbeing.

The money will help us invest in:
⚽ Equipment and facilities
🤝 Creating more opportunities for our members
📚 Empowering courses and support to continue our journey

This event is about so much more than football. It’s about connection, conversation, support and showing people that nobody has to face life’s challenges alone.

If you can spare anything — big or small — please consider donating. Your generosity will help support those affected by dementia and help Talking Football continue to make a difference in men’s mental health.

One of our wonderful kit sponsors The Bridge Hotel, Horwich. Have had something that belongs to them stolen. Stolen on a day that was put on for a celebration and someone has taken advantage of their generosity and kindness.

Let’s get this returned to the rightful owners as soon as possible.

Thank you 🙏

PLEASE SHARE IF YOU CARE ❤️

Last Saturday I had my birthday celebrations with the amazing Bob Marley tribute act, I put free food on and loads of drink offers - BUT some horrible, thieving woman decided to take advantage of a good thing and stole this sign, which has a lot of sentimental value to me and mine 💔

I have got the theft on CCTV and it's quite obvious her partner was not impressed when she tucked it under her coat to steal it - i have contacted the police, but alls I want is my sign back - please if you know who took this tell her to return it, or she she will be prosecuted 🙏 xKx
