Due to the forecast high winds associated with Storm Boelo, we have had to cancel tonight's Festival of Light (Sunday 25th October 2026).

The safety of our volunteers, staff and visitors must always come first and we do not feel it would be safe to proceed with the event.

We know this will be disappointing news and we are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. We share your disappointment. Our staff and volunteers have spent many hundreds of hours preparing for this year's Festival of Light, which is also our biggest annual fundraiser in support of the Gardens. Refunds will begin to be processed as soon as possible.

If you'd prefer to support the continued upkeep of the Gardens rather than receive a refund, you can choose to donate all or part of your ticket value.

Simply email [email protected] with your name, the number, date and value of the tickets you bought and the amount you would like to donate, using DONATION as the email subject.

๐ŸŒŸ FESTIVAL OF LIGHT - FRIDAY'S EVENT CANCELLED ๐ŸŒŸ

Unfortunately, we are very sad to say that due to the forecast high winds associated with Storm Austen, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel tonight's Festival of Light (Friday 23rd October 2026).

The safety of our volunteers, staff and visitors must always come first and we do not feel it would be safe to proceed with the event.

We know this will be disappointing news and we are very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause.

A decision on whether Saturday and Sunday's evenings can proceed safely will be made on the morning of each day, based on the latest weather information and site conditions.

Please note we won't be able to respond to individual messages about refunds or whether events are going ahead. We kindly ask that you refer to your emails for the latest information.

While tonight's event goes ahead as planned, adverse weather is currently forecast for the weekend and we want to keep visitors informed about how decisions will be made for the remaining event dates.

The safety of our visitors, volunteers, performers and staff remains our top priority and we will continue to monitor conditions closely over the coming days.

A decision on whether Friday, Saturday and Sunday's events can proceed safely will be made on the morning of each event day, based on the latest weather information and site conditions.

Should weather conditions mean that we have to cancel a particular day's event, all ticket holders will be contacted directly by email before 12 noon on the day. Further updates will also be posted on our social media pages.

Please note that, due to the nature of the event and the team being busy on site, we won't be able to respond to individual messages about whether events are going ahead. We kindly ask that you keep an eye on your emails and this page for the latest information.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We look forward to welcoming everyone attending tonight's event! โœจ

There are so many amazing people involved in putting on a huge event like the Festival of Light - and their work starts months in advance and continues in the weeks afterwards.
A huge thank you to all of the volunteers and staff for their energy, commitment and expertise because the Festival quite simply couldnโ€™t go ahead without you.
If you havenโ€™t got your tickets yet, thereโ€™s less than 2 weeks to go. To find out more, visit: https://www.rivingtonterracedgardens.org.uk/fol/
