Safety alert for parents, carers and retailers.

Before buying, please check that products clearly show:

• UKCA or CE markings
• manufacturer details
• UK importer details
• appropriate safety warnings
• clear instructions

Parents and carers should remove toys from use immediately if they leak, split, smell strongly of chemicals, or do not include proper safety labelling.

There is also a dangerous online trend encouraging children to microwave these toys. These products should never be heated. The gel inside can become extremely hot while the outside remains cool, creating a risk of burns if the toy bursts.

Please share this with parents, carers, grandparents and anyone buying toys for children.

Concerns can be reported via the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 0808 223 1133.
